I'm hoping for some advice regarding my hormonal therapy that I am currently
taking and the issues I am experiencing.
I'm on unpaid med leave with abdomino-pelvic adhesions and endometriosis.
Had too many unsuccessfull surgeries to remove endometriosis which included
a total abdominal hysterectomy - now inoperable and in chronic pain.
I'm taking gabapentin and vicoden for pain management - which isn't working
and (I know) isn't actually part of the advice I'm seeking - but could be part of the
problem....?
I was taking estratest and vivelle dot untill the insurance coverage lapsed.
Once I found that the price of estratest was just not doable - we switched to
syntest w/ vivelle dot.
That's been ok moodswing and hotflash wise, but I swear that my hair is slowly
thinning. I'm not sure if this is due to the other meds I am on or the fact that I'm
on this syntest which is taken 7days on 7 days off.
I've applied for the patient assistance program with solvay (mfgr's of estratest) but:
No.1 - no idea what their unpublished income guidelines are & and if they only offer me
a discount...not sure if I'll be able to afford them.
No.2 - I'm only 35. How long will it be necessary for me to take these?
I have had weeks where I neglected changing patch and/or skipped estratest/syntest
and immediately realized why i need hormonal assistance.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
