Hi Scrapper

It is nerve wracking - exactly that I reckon!!! I tell my husband and he looks at me and you can see nothing from the outside - it is so weird......at least if my tum and chest went green people would see that something is going on.......these hidden symptoms are danged annoying cos no-one believes me I am sure......

I have not found a way yet to get rid of it entirely - it seems to come and go of its own accord - I have it at the moment - woke with it this morning in fact - b*****y irritating but at least less scary or debilitating than many of my other peri stuff - I wonder if its my stress hormones out on a bender - so I do try and burn off some cals on a hard bike ride and to be honest that does help - I am probably so knackered I dont notice the shakes!!!

I take tons of supplements and eat a healthy diet and exercise - and none of this makes the slightest dint on my symptoms - all I can say is that it does make it easier for me to cope with the symptoms - I am more reslient - although that may have something to do with the fact that I have out up with this c**p for 18 months now and am still here....so it aint killed me yet!!!!

Hang in there

Hi: Scrapper:

Have you tried magnesium. There is a lot of information here about how it helps with the shakes. I know I have found great relief with it. Read all you can, I think you will find it on the Recomendation page.

Also wonder how long this will go on, had it now for about 6 months..worse and night, but now notice it through the day time also sad.gif

I know everyone is different, but I tried Estroven and it did absolutely nothing for me. Magnesium is wonderful for the internal shaking, twitching, etc.

I have been having these symptoms for almost 2 years now, so they definitely don't go away overnight!

Wow Scrapper, our vibrations seem the same. Mine also started only while sleeping, rolling over in bed, and upon waking. Now though I feel them sometimes during the day (usually right after ovulation). Last couple days I've been pretty good after waking until about 4 p.m. For those people who have never experienced these vibes, it's hard for them to understand! Today will be the first day to have taken 500mg of magnesium...I'll let you how it works. Anyone know how long before you start seeing improvement while taking magnesium?

How much Magnesium do you take and how long did it take for the internal shaking to go away?? Is that all you take is that??
Thanks

I take 900-1000 mg of Magnesium a day to keep the symptoms minimal. I actually experienced an improvement within the first week, and the more I took, the better it got. Start with a couple hundred mg and work your way up slowly to a higher dose (it can cause bowel disturbance, but your body will get used to the dose and then you can increase). Even now, sometimes it's better and I take less, then if it acts up again, I take more and it subsides usually within the week. So it is very good at controlling these symptoms. i still wish they would just go away! I hope that it works for you.

Hi Scrapper, Just read your posts and some of the replies, I'm trying to come to terms with all this too, I really felt your "if this doesn't stop I'm going to go insane" plea for help. I took myself there too. It's such a weird thing isn't it ? Came right out of nowhere too. When I am anxious about it I know it makes it worse, I'm making a project out of seeing how quickly I can turn my head around and centre myself, because I've found it really does help me. At the moment I'm feeling it a lot in my face and all over when I wake up in the morning. I'm on magnesium and vitB as well as flaxseed oil. I really agree with everyone that the magnesium helps a lot and I have an epsom salts bath before bed (when I can, or when the symptoms are too much to try to go to sleep) that really work wonders, I use 2 packets about 800mg. One other thing that I'm really finding is making a difference and that's laughing about it ! Never thought I'd say that, but when I'm talking about it now, there seems so much about it that's quite comical, anyone else feel that way ? Or am I masochistic ? Fairytoes biggrin.gif

Hi Scrapper:

I know that internal shaking feeling, feels like you are about to jump out of your skin. I wake up feeling that way, and when I have real bad anxiety it's worst. I just want to say when taking the Mag for the first time, it can actually be a colon cleaner ohmy.gif.. I had tried taking it for the first time and woke up the next morning and had to runs, I thought it was the anxiety coming back. I already have IBS, so after taking it the first time I was scared of trying it again, if I try it again it will be on a Friday night. I heard that it is really good for the interal shaking, they say taking it along with calcium is a good idea. Keep me posted. wink.gif

I am now taking 500 mg. of magnesium a day plus B complex and B12. I don't know, but I feel that the vibes have lessened during the day. I haven't been taking it long enough yet to see if the decrease in the vibes are from the supplements or cause "FLOW" will be visiting tomorrow. I have not noticed a decrease in the vibes when I wake though...hopefully these too will fade! I am wondering if I need to increase the dosage of the mag.?...Any thoughts???? My husband is a pharmacist he said too much mag. can fool with blood pressure and kidneys. I don't know what too much is though.

Hi scrapper, taking the magnesium is ok. It's a mineral that's normally found in our soils but because of farming mag has depleted and so we have a times had to take it. I remember reading ages ago that some of the ladies said they read many years ago women suffered with tremors. That's probably why they ended up in the nut house! No body believed them and they locked them away with these funny symptoms. I haven't had any problem with taking magnesium, Take 1000mg per day, 500mg am and 500 in the pm with calcium. Calcium is supposed to help with sleep and taking the 2 together, one helps the other to be absorbed. Can't remember which one though smile.gif

I used to have a tablet phobia, still don't like taking them, only take vitamens and the minerals. Maybe if you spoke to a natropath scrapper and cpdawg, they will put you on the right path. I hope to see one soon and try and find out the best way to help myself with these peri symptoms. I think after awhile we need a hand. I have a friend who has a hysterectomy and is 54, she has had nothing not even a hot flush!! How dare she!! Maybe she hasn't gone through this yet and then again she might me one of these lucky women that go through to menopause with their mind and health intact smile.gif Anyway read what everyone takes and does as you will find something to suit you. Plus all of the information on this site. This will be with you for awhile, I've had it for 18mths now and it does become less intense but is awlays there. Don't stress over it as you can see it seems to effect a lot of women. Good luck and keep posting on your progress.

Ciao Cheryl

Hi, to all those 'shakers' out there! I have not been on this site for a while, as life has been a bit hectic recently. It is such a wonderful help to us all.

I was getting the tremors/ shakes, (whatever you want to call them ) real bad last year and lasted for several months. Then they got less frequent and eventually stopped. Recently I have had them again just vaguely but now I can accept that they will go in their own time. I think this is half the battle - realising that they are not something serious - I , too went through all the various ailments that it could be.

Every time I get a new symptom I worry that it is something serious, but I am beginning to realise that it must be just our bodies changing, as invariably the symptom goes - only to be replaced by another!

Keep busy, eat healthily ( I have reduced the amount of fat and sugar in my diet, drastically,- as advised by my acupuncturist) and try exercising more - we have recently moved to a house with nearly 40 steps from the bottom of the garden to the top.The best ( but not easiest) thing to do is to try not to worry too much. Here's me talking - (probably the biggest worrier ever!) Now I am worried because I have lost weight - MUST be something wrong. See, the mind playing games again - diet sheets explain that if you eat less calories and exercise more you will lose weight, but still I worry!Deep down, I know that worrying about all these symptoms makes them much worse.

I am not saying that these things will cure all our problems, UNFORTUNATELY,but if they only help a bit, then we may all feel a little better !

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO REMEMBER THAT WE ARE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT- SOMETIMES THE SEA GETS A BIT ROUGH!

Thanks for the thoughts Pippin..I think its sad that us women have to go through all this mess just to be ourselves again..I think that once we had our kids we should be able to "flip" a switch and be normal..Ha Ha.. I hate this feeling, makes me so uneasy and like you everytime a new symtem arrises I panic!! Just don't seem fair..I try to exercise and am only 5' 1" tall, always say I am "undertall" and of course overweight which they say keeps your hormones "active"..just hope for an end to it soon, keep hereing everyone on here say they take Magnesium tablets, hate to start having to take pills..
Keep me posted..
