Full Version: are these hot flashes
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else had menopause come on suddenly. I'm 47 years old and had 3/4 day periods until January of this year when I had a 9 day one, then in February an 11 day one and then a few days after that one ended I started bleeding again and had to have an emergency d and c. Then I got anemia 6 weeks later as no one told me to take iron supplements for a while. I was 3 weeks into recovering from the anemia, and feeling really good, when I became tired, had headaches, brain wouldn't work, then about a week after that unrelenting heat in my face that would last for hours. I went to my own doctor, gave me a Vit b12 shot, emergency room who said it was probably a bad reaction to allergies this year, my allergist, back to the emergency room where they said they didn't know what it was but gave me xanax for my anxiety symptoms, to the psychiatrist who gave me zoloft, to the gynecologist who said he's never heard of someone having all the symptoms at once to start this phase of menopause (although my estrogen and fsh was in post menopausal range day they tested it) and he gave me that new pill jaz i think it's called, used to be called jasmin. Anyway the xanax and zoloft were working and I didn't have any hot flashes for the past 1 1/2 weeks so thought maybe it was just some depression and anxiety from recovering from the anemia which was really stressful, but this morning I was hot from 7 to 9 a.m., then again from 5-7 and again now at 10:00p.m. so I'm thinking it's time to try the hormones. Has anyone else had these types of menopausal symptoms come on as fast as mine? Also are these really hot flashes - only me face gets hot and red - no where else? thanks in advance for any responses. HI.... I NEVER SWEAT WITH HOT FLASHES EITHER. I JUST GET HOT ON MY FACE LIKE I HAVE BEEN SUNBURNED . MINE WILL LAT A FEW MINUTES TO SEVERAL HOURS. MY HUSBAND SAYS IT FEELS LIKE A FEVER TO THE TOUCH.
