I'm so happy to have found this board. First of all I turned 39 just this past April. I have 2 children ages 15 and 9 had a tubal after my son was born. I had no problems with the tubal, I have always been like clock-work with my periods, every 26 to 27 days since the age of 13, until 3 months ago. The last 3 monthly cycles I had were 7 to 14 days late each month. The last cyle which would have been the 4th one was 12 days late and when I did start it was very light spotting I could have not worn a panty liner and would have been safe. I spotted for 2 days like that and quit and 4 days later I started spotting very light again. I have bouts of crying for no reason at all, can be on top of the world and then hit rock bottom the next. I can be doing a simple chore such as making the beds, and I will be pouring to sweat even with the air-cond. running full blast, I freeze the rest of my family to death due to this. I have not noticed any other symptoms other than what I mentioned. I'm trying to not freak out and trying to keep a positive attitude. My question is this does this sound like pre-menapause and has anyone been similiar to me with their cycles.

Thankyou for any help rolleyes.gif

Hiya and welcome

Well - you do seem to have come to the right place!

First of all - if you are feeling tired for no reason etc - do get checked out by your DR first of all - that aside - your temp sensitivity, mood swings, erratic periods - yup - they have been part and parcel of perimenopause for me - I started at 43 - but was on BCP before that so that could have masked onset of change

Hormones have a massive influence on mood - I started crying like a baby at anything - commercials - stuff in the papers - I didnt need much of an excuse - I get days like it every now and then tongue.gif

My cycles have been way different to yours - I just stopped and then went on HRT and started again - then stopped HRT - fizzled out - then just started again after 6 months of nuffin blink.gif but then we are all so peculiar arent we!!!

Tons to read on this site - form women of all ages - I posted to someone of 23 last night who has symptoms

Enjoy and do not worry - you have found a bunch of great women here!!

hi sdblue I just found this board too.

I am also 39 soon to be 40. I did a search on perimenopause and I'm grateful to have found this site. I am also having symptoms and feel like I'm going nuts.

night sweats, mood swings, sore breasts almost two weeks of month. I notice the mood swings come much earlier almost 2 weeks before my period. irregular periods - always very regular until @ year ago some months I have longer periods, some months shorter and some months fewer days between cycles. I'm also tired all of the time. I've been to the doctor but she's never suggested perimenopause and she has not done any tests for hormone levels. I did not even think of this as a possibility until I started searching the internet. I also have irregular heart beat and what I think may be anxiety attaches. I've never experienced this before. I'm very happy in my marriage and with my son (4 1/2) and I love my job so my personal life is fine.

Any suggestions from you ladies? Good resources I can read? Questions I can ask my doctor? I know two things I can improve is diet and exercise, my diet is not as good as once was and I don't exercise much anymore, just not much time.

Thanks,
cjrwburg
Hello, I am also new to this site, I'm 45 and have recently found out from my doctor I am in the early stages of menopause. I thought I was too young to go through this yet but reading some other messages here I have found I am not. I have hot flashes and night sweats periodically, I've not really had any promblems with my emotions going crazy, no crying for no reason or being in a really bad mood. I thought I had stopped having my period, I usually am very regular until April, that was my last period and then yesterday I started it again. Makes it very inconvenient, you never know when it's going to happen. About 2 1/2 years ago I had to have some surgery because I was having very heavy periods, I was passing huge blood clots, I was almost to the point of having to have a hysterectomy but we tried this surgery and it worked very well. My doctor had told me most women stop having their periods after this type of surgery but that wasn't the case for me and he also said most women have an increase in sexual desire but that was really not the case with me. So, now I'm having irregular periods and hot flashes and night sweats. My husband doesn't like to talk about "women" issues so I have very few people I can talk to about this. Hopefully through these message boards I can get some advice going through what other women are also going through. Hope to chat with some of you soon.
