I do take synthroid & my most recent thyroid tests are in the norm. I know thyroid & peri are almost identical when it comes to symptoms (same as meno) & its hard to detect which is which, i'm just wondering is it my synthroid, my thyroid (doubt it ) or just good ol' peri. Anyone else?
Full Version: Thyroid, perimenopause, & skipped periods
Anyone else taking synthroid or another thyroid hormone ever get skipped or late periods? My last one was in March. I also am more than likely going through peri (im 43, soon to be 44) i've also been having occassional hot flashes & night sweats, heart racing (at time), along with pms--wonderful! I also take thyroid meds for hypothyroidism and until peri hit I never had any problems with my periods. The symptoms of both peri and hypo are so similiar it is at times difficult to tell which is causing the problems but I would think that if thyroid tests show you are on the right dosage then what you are experiencing is good old peri
I went 2 1/2 months recently without a period...first time I ever skipped. Hopefully it means we are getting closer to the end of the long peri road
