I feel like the nerve endings in my chest, and sometimes arms and neck are on fire and all prickley..it comes and goes...it makes it feel all hot sometimes ...and sometimes itchy...sometimes like a sunburn, but it's not...

anyone else get this?

Hi Lisa,

It always amazes me how our symptoms are so alike. I know we have talked of this before but i thought i would just reinforce this because i know how scary this time can be and how reassuring it is to see others that have the same thing.

Of course by no means am i happy that others are suffering...What i mean is you realise by reading we're all not alone.....Saying that, When this journey first started with me 4 yrs ago...One of the first symptoms i had was this!

I would feel this odd tingling like you get when you burn yourself,On my neck and my face....This was intense and would come in waves all Day and night for several mos.

I would look in the mirror thinking for sure i must be beet red because i felt like i had a sun burn....No sweating.I would look in the mirror...and NOTHING!!...Sometimes i would get the feelings on my upper arms but mostly concentrated on my chest and face.

Of course the more nervous i got ...the more intense it became.

After 2 wks of convincing myself i was dieing,and my hubby pleading with me i went to my gyno...I had a funny feeling it was hormones,meanwhile having no clue about peri/meno.

My gynecologist explained to me that i was peri and that the symptom i was experiencing was a precursor to a hot flash....She went on to explain to me that not every women has the "typical" hot flash...Meaning the profuse sweating palps...etc etc.

This went on for a few mos. then stopped....Those were MY hot flashes.

Yeah, that's exactly how they feel...it comes in waves and feels like hot heat stinging on my chest ...last night I did have it up my back and on my right arm too..that 's what made me think it was nerve endings...no sweats, just the heat..if I kenw that's all it was I would relax and enjoy, because hte warmth is actually quite pleasant...

It's just scary when you get a new symptom .;..i'm thinking it's cancer or a heart attack brewing or something....always the worst!

I`m right there with you Lisa...I always used to think every time I experienced a new symptom...."Yep,this is it...this is the big one"..."I`m definetely dying now"...but I would come here and look around the boards and see that alot if not everyone here was going through something or had gone through something similar to what I was going through....

This place has really saved me from extreme Anxiety Attacks and has helped calm me so much....


I quietly say to myself every day when I sign off of here...."Thank you so much Dearest,for this wonderful site...that has now become my second home"...
