Hi, Meryl!! I am sending you many hugs, by the way. ((((((MERYL)))))) You are absolutely right with your advice. The first few times I experienced vulvar tears, I had everything checked out by a doctor - five in all!
Noodles, I will tell you that I have experienced very light bleeding from tears that I developed in the vulvar area, due to extreme dryness. It was very frightening for me, since I had a hysterectomy in 1994, and I imagined the very worst possible scenario. During my very darkest menopause meoments, which I pray are now dwindling, I became very obsessed with the notion that something was terribly wrong. Once you have this checked out, as Meryl suggests, you will feel so much better - I promise you!
Take care and let us know how all goes.
Belinda
To make a long story short, 16 mos. ago I developed some postmenopausal bleeding. Went for numerous tests (MRI, D&C, attempted endo biopsy) .....most of which were inconclusive because my huge fibroid was in the way. Gyn-onc. felt from what he could see/feel during D&C nothing was wrong and bleeding was probably from stress on fibroid. Went for 8 mos. with no bleeding at all but recently saw literally 2 drops on underwear. The day before I felt irritated and achy in my vagina.....did not have sex... and that's why I wonder if vaginal dryness can cause minor bleeding at times other than sexual intercourse.
