i got my estrogen patches today ..i havent put them on yet. i rather wait till i get answers from here as i really love all of you here. this patch is called. Estradiol 0.05 mg/day continuous D ELIVERY (ONCE_WEEKLEY) has any one tried this? ive been gone to my das a week . hes 93 years old & had to have some one come in place of me as my menopause was really hitting me hard...head pressure & all. let me know if patches are good..what side affects? does it cause more anixity? love peggy sue

I am on a 0.025 mg/day patch. It's a week-long patch and it sticks to my skin very well. For me that level of estrogen is enough that I can sleep and it makes my hot flashes minimal. Because I am still very young to be without my ovaries my doctor had me try a higher dose patch but I experienced some of the less common side effects - I had terrible headaches and I think it also raised my blood pressure. So I went back to the lower dose. Unfortunately for me I don't have time to test other delivery systems for estrogen, when I get a chance I want to go to a compounding pharmacy and be tested and try something else.

Make sure and read the package warning label, it will tell you what to watch out for, and if you have any symptoms that you don't recognize - call your doctor or your nurse.

I have to say though it helped me a lot. For example - I can sleep, I couldn't before due to night sweats and then I would wake up in the middle of the night, I am calmer, I am nicer (considering my normal personality is less than charming this is important), and I don't have many hot flashes and they are less severe.

now my Family has strokes in family & my dad had lotts of mini strokes
my mom died of cancer. but im so paranoid, i could just SCREAM !!!!!!

i mean............i wasnt a bad person any time in my life.....untilll the menopause striked me & WHAM...im a Basket case Off & on ....I gotta admit it gives me a little break ....lol few months ago. i got on phone & called everyone that i was soooooo SCARED ...& thought i was dying .......i took Soy milk ..that eased up little things... but not totally ...i would get chest pains ............& geeeee we have heart trouble in our family also ..I had a Hysterectomy last year ...they left my ovaries...im 53 .. well thanks for your reply & hope i get more replys..its always nice to get more opions from others ....thanks hon ..& take care....
