I am crossing my fingers but I think that Extra Strength Estrovan has almost eliminated my hot flashes. I've been having severe flashes for about 5 months now - non stop - almost hourly. I tried everything except HRT and that is sitting on the kitchen counter. About 2 weeks ago I bought Estrovan and began taking 2 a day as the directions suggest. At about 11 days into it I noticed that I wasn't having the hourly sweats. Yesterday I had one during the day and about 3 short ones at night. Today not a thing so far. I don't know what is going on but it sure feels good not to sweat in front of everyone at work.
It may be worth a try for anyone who has thrown her hands up in the air and said "I give up!"

No caffeine as far as I can tell and I read the tiny print. It says it contains no artificial dyes, colors, preservatives, flavors, yeast, wheat, gluten, lactose or animal products. It has vitamins, calcium, soy isoflavones, and black cohosh. I bought it over the counter at my local grocery store. I swear I am knocking on wook saying this but nothing has helped me since this hot flash stuff kicked in last fall. smile.gif

Nancy,

How old are you?? I did the estroven for 2 years at the age of 51. Yeah it seemed like it worked, but I don't think I was in menopause yet. At the age of 53 the hot flashes got so bad, every 1/2 hour. I had to go to the estradoil (plant based) pill form. It took about 3 weeks to kick in, but I have not had a hot flash since. So, I guess it depends on what part of menopause you are in. Some don't get it as bad as others.
This is just my experience.
