DOES ANYONE OUTTHERE HAVE SYMPTONS OF SPOTTING IN BETWEEN PERIODS ESPECIALLY DURING DAYS OF OVALATION? ALSO DO YOU NOTICE DIZZINESS BEFORE BOWEL MOVEMENTS STRANGE BUT HAPPENS, THANKS .
Kleeo
I have had several times when I've had spotting in between periods. The first of January I had a real heavy period, then started spotting 2 weeks after it stopped (this went on for about a week and a half) and skipped a period in February. Then had a period the first week of March. I've also had times when I would only spot for a day or so. Someone said that maybe it's a sign you are getting ready to stop your periods ~ wouldn't THAT be nice! laugh.gif I think it's perfectly normal most of the time, however, if it worries you mention it to your doctor. Most likely it's just part of the process!

Also, I don't remember having dizziness before a bowel movement. But I do have lots of the dizzies and lightheadedness~sorry I couldn't help you there!
HUGS!

Well I certainly hope it's a sign of the end, too. Glad I could give you some reassurance.
This too, WILL pass. We'll have to think about adding another board here for "Ex-Meno Babes" when we are all over this misery! That way we can all stay in touch! Either that or we can hang around and help all of the newbies just to reassure them that THERE IS HOPE!
HUGS TO YOU!

I've had spotting in between periods a couple of times. In fact, I had a period two weeks ago and just yesterday (during ovulation) I spotted a little, just for one day. The first time it happened a couple of years ago, I went to the doctor. He did find a cyst on my ovary but I'm not sure that caused the spotting in between periods or if it is just due to hormonal fluctuations.

Spotting during ovulation was one of the first symptoms I had of perimenopause, along with periods going crazy in general. It occurred every month for a long time. When it first happened I freaked, went to my primary care physician, went to a gynecologist then another. My PCP said no big deal. The first gynecologist said no big deal, it happens to many women in perimenopause. The second said maybe we should do a uterine biopsy. I'd always heard that any spotting between periods should be checked out because it might be a sign of uterine cancer. It turned out to be no big deal.

I don't know why it happens. I googled it several times and each time landed in forums for women suffering from fertility problems who claimed that their physicians told them that spotting at ovulation was a good sign because it meant they were ovulating. Someone said it occurs when progesterone drops precipitously.

I'd still like a better explanation of why it happens.

I had ovulation spotting for about 8 months. I haven't had any in the past 7 months. I still get periods, although they're erratic, occurring every 24 to 40 days. I have yet to miss any periods. My theory is that I've still a long way to go on this long strange journey.

In regard to your question about feeling dizzy before a bowel movement-Yes I get that-always have done. I was talking to my 21 year old daughter the other day and she mentioned that she has it and wondered why. Well I don't know what causes it but its certainly not the menopause! Its obviously nothing to be worried about anyway.

Wow thanks for letting me know, I don't feel alone I agree I don't think its anything to worry about just seems odd. I also had read in this real good book called "BEFORE THE CHANGE,TAKING CHARGE OF YOUR PERIMENOPAUSE BY Ann Louise Gittleman and she has a section on page 115 and it says The interaction of corticosteroid hormones with the sympathetic and parasympathic nervous system is a delicate balance act. This interaction controls all the bodily systems not under direct control of the brain, such as breathing, heartbeat and intestinal movements. So it seems as in since I also have palpataions, dizzeness and a fast heartbeat it seems to tie in with the bowel movement thing. Thanks again , lots of hugs , tinkybug

I agree. I have gotten dizzy and nauseous many times, even in my 20s prior to the act, but usually when I overate.
