I had a total hysterectomy in 82, and was put on estrogen. I have used it for years and haven't had any problems.
I moved to a new city and the doctor wanted me to try taking Premarin tablets instead of using patches.
I got a bad migraine and he said it wasn't from the Premarin. Another doctor said it was and told me to go back on the patches.
Another doctor said to stop using hormone therapy altgether, which I did. I haven't used any in several weeks.
Anyway, now I am having hot/cold flashes, upset stomach, diarrhea, sour taste in my mouth and was having palpitations. I decided to go back on my patches and used the first one two days ago. Does it take awhile to get in your system and work?
Also, do these symptoms sound familiar, especially the stomach ones?
Please let me know, I am glad I found this website.

Personally I would not recommend the premarin...I took it for over 6 months doctor prescribed, when I came off the prempro. Should have never been placed on it from the get go. Honestly believe this drug to be truly dangerous. My blood pressure went to unbelievable levels. I've read where premarin has caused strokes....scared the garbage right out of me.

It can take awhile for the estrogen to kick in...most of the time...at least for me...a week. Everyone is different.
Yes, all the symptoms sound much too familiar...menopause.

So many natural alternatives now...you might want to check this site's resources and educate your self on the many different choices.
Read the posts...you will always find someone who is going through near the same symptoms as yourself...they always have some old tried and true remedies.
Your gonna love it here....
