Considering the fact that during a hot flash there's increased blood flow, etc., does ones' metabolism speed up also?

I have a high metabolism--always have--during a hot flash, I notice no other changes in me. Just increased heat and sweat for about 2 minutes--then it's gone.

Just a guess- I doubt it. The way I understand them, hot flashes are caused by the part of the brain that regulates temperature control. Also, the blood vessels dilate- or constrtrict- during this time. Anyone else?
