Full Version: Do I need an Rx for BHR and where do I get one?
Power Surge Forums > Board Discussions > Bioidentical, Natural Hormones - BHRT

After being in a living hell for thr last year, I am ready to try BHR therapy. Like many others, I had symptoms for almost 2 years that my doc kept blaming on other problems and testing for everything BUT menopause despite my insisting it was meno. He said that at 43 I was "too young" to be going through meno. I finally (in a menopausal rage, LOL) DEMANDED that he do a FSH test which showed that yes, I WAS in the early part of meno with FSH of 24.

My doc won't Rx Premarin or Prempro anymore and I don't want that anyway. But he is totally clueless about BHR and did not know another doc who was informed that he could refer me too. If I need an Rx for Bio's where do I get it since no docs around here are educated in this field? My doc wouldn't be able to interpret a saliva test and prescribe a proper dosage of BHRT. Is there somewhere I could order saliva testing and get an Rx from them? I am so confused and desperate! The final straw for me was almost getting into a fist fight with another woman in a parking lot ohmy.gif due to my rage being out of control and exacerbated by my NOT SLEEPING! ARRGGGHH!! Someone please help! Thank you.

Welcome aboard!

Best answer now is for you to go back to the top of the page, go to the Power Surge Site and into "Ask The Experts". They definately have a site to answer your question about necessity for a prescrip, and may (if I remember) be able to direct you to peri-sensitive professionals in your area.

I was on this board for six months before exploring other than the message boards, and WOW!!!
There is info compiled from tons of sources about all kinds of meno problems, people to answer your questions (and they REALLY do answer, and quickly!), replays of guest speakers, info on herbals.....just check it out!

Sorry about the rant... I was hving a "moment"

But back to the point,
If you have the numbers to be peri, seek out someone who is more understanding about what you are going through. At least you can go into a new Doc with THAT info, and start from there!

Best of luck, Hon. We're all pulling for you. Let us know how it goes! happy.gif
