Does anyone get this..at some point during my cycle, i've noticed I tend to get a very sore, stiff neck and shoulders....almost frozen, where I have trouble turning my head from side to side...

It seems to run down my spine a little ways..but it really hurts, like it's very stiff and sore...ibuprofen helps, but doesn't take it totally away...might last a day or two.

anyone else get this? And could it be related to these wonderful hormones?

Hi Lisa
Yes I do get this ....but I never attributed it to meno.

Do you get it monthly at some point?

Nurselisa,
I get this all the time. I attribute it to anxiety and muscle tension that comes with peri. I never had this before peri, so I do think it is all related to hormones. I am not cycling regularly, so this has become more of a regular thing for me these days.

I also get a stiff neck and shoulders quite often. But a couple of weeks before my period i get real stiff and sore.I thought maybe it was just stress and fluctuating hormones...?

I feel this way most of the time. I see a chiropractor every few weeks but have purposely not seen him in about 2 months since I want to see if I can deal w/this without him. I use alot of BenGay. It doesn't take the stiffness away but it does make it feel better.

I have heard that it could be arthritis. Usually physical therapy is recommended (I try to do stretching exercises) and Advil.

Cheers,
EJ
