I have just started noticing that when I shower anytime besides in the moring after I first get up that within 15 - 30 minutes I get a hot flash that lasts for about 30 minutes and my face is beet red.

Usually when I have a hot flash I don't get that red either. Just seems strange to me. I was wondering if anyone else experienced something similar.

The same thing happens to me. I take my showers before bed at night. I am so hot when I get out of the shower I have to open the windows, and it's winter! I can't get under the covers for at least 30 minutes. Then the hot flash cycle for the night starts up and I get less than six hours of sleep now. I am so exhausted! I wish I could go to sleep for three months! My poor husband, bless his heart, has to sometimes put on a stocking cap to keep warm, because i have to keep the heat turned down and open a window. Just the saound of the heater coming on makes me flash. It's no fun. Does anyone have any suggestions>

That is why I love this site...I am not alone smile.gif

For my hot flashes, I found "Menopause Support" from Prevention. I get it at GNC. I take 2 tablets in the morning at breakfast (along with my regular multi-vitamin). This product contains Black Cohosh, Calcium and Magnesium. This product works wonders for me. Since taking it, I have had NO hot flashes, not even at night, which is the greatest!! Before I started taking this product, I would get night sweats so bad, I was up changing my jammies 2 or 3 times a night...plus opening the window or lowering the air conditioner temp. After showers / baths, I would be beet red as well and so sweaty, I felt I needed another shower. But, like I said, this product works wonders for me...not sure how it works on others. I do have to take a multi-vitamin that is very low in magnesium due to "Menopause Support" contains magnesium. I get very sick to my stomach with too much magnesium...so I must read all my labels to see what percentage I am getting.

Now, if I could just get over the insomnia... blink.gif

Hope this information helps a little. biggrin.gif

gelleraruba and MrsB,what has helped me is right before i am finished showering i start turning the water down to a cooler temp and then finish off with just cold water,it really has made a big difference. And if i take a bath,i stand up and turn the shower on and rinse off with cold water before i get out of the tub.
