Can someone please advise?
I am 49 and have had erratic periods for the past 20+ months--sometimes no period (longest stretch with no period was 5 months), two periods in one month, a couple of months with just near-daily spotting...Gyno tested & found no serious problems--suggested going back on the Pill awhile. But I chose to try natural progesterone cream instead. It comes in a pump bottle, and I use 2 pumps in th a.m. and the same at night, which equals 22-24 mg./day, which is the amount Dr. Lee recommends in his books. I use the Day 8 to day 28 program of usage, with 7 days off. The first two cycles, I had no period, no spotting. I thought this was great & attributed it to the cream. During the week off the cream between Cycle 2 & cycle 3, I expected a period, but just spotted for 3 days(brownish-to-purplish spots). I started up with the cream again on Day 8, as usual, but when day 13 arrived (which was 2 days ago), I started spotting again. I thought by 3 cycles, the progesterone cream would have the weird periods/spotting back to normal, but this isn't the case.

Should I keep on it for a couple more cycles to see if things get more regular?
Should I go off of it & see if my periods eventually cease? CAN I even go into menopause when on the cream or will it PREVENT me from having menstruation finally GO AWAY?

Thanking you for any help...

I started the progesterone cream about a month ago. Last week I had a few days of spotting and then nothing and decided it must be a super light short period and so I took the week off the cream as suggested.
Then Monday I got back on the progesterone cream and I got spotting or a period or whatever this is called. I'm not sure whether to use the cream this week or stop it for another week, since we are supposed to not use it on our periods.

Can progesterone cream bring on spotting/period? I was looking forward to using the cream after a week off last week... now the spotting starts all over again. If we continue to spot off and on how will we ever be able to know when to use it and when to take the week off. How are we supposed to follow a schedule when there is no schedule. blink.gif

Anyone??

Geez- I have the same problem. I use the cream - I took a week off- had my period- then felt as if I needed t be back on it again. I too have the spotting- can't tell if it's a real period - cream - or just the ways things are. I hope someone can give some insight.

I haven't started the cream yet but I have the same questions since my periods are so irregular now I don't even know if I will get a period these days, although now I have the never ending one. There really is no predictable cycle. Are you working with a pharmacist at a compounding pharmacy? I am going to ask my gyn about this issue since I don't see how one can follow the directions when you don't know what to even call a period. Wish I could help but I am in the dark and getting desperate.

I have jsut started the cream too, so far everything has been ok, got my period when I was supposed to but I would like if it will help the lightheadness and foggy feeling that we are feeling. I just hate this feeling. Does anyone have a sore stomach right in between your rib cage, because I have and they have done an ultrasound and says there is nothing there but for some reason it hurts. Let me know.
