I went into surgical menopause two years ago at the age of 40.  Since that time I have been on several various hormonal treatments trying to find the right one.  I have spent countless hours online in research trying to find out what I should and shouldn't be taking.  I have had a terrible time trying to locate a doctor that really is both informative and informed on HRT.  I prefer that my replacement therapy be as safe and as natural as possible, however, I'm not opposed to replacement (testosterone) thats not totally of the natural kind as long as I understand the pros and cons and can weigh them against the results.  I'm not a doctor, but I've found that I find out much more about what is being prescribed than the doctors I've gone to.   What has happened thus far is I take something and then when an unwanted side effect occurs and I go online and find out why, I go back in and something else is prescribed and the cycle begins again.  How can you find a doctor that is specialized in menopausal needs...orders the right tests, etc?  I've tried online searches...am I missing a site that would help?  If anyone's got a good one...help...I'm in Ohio...and I know all my friends have the same complaints as mine..we're all frustrated!

Hiya Rootbeer - this topic has been discussed quite a bit on the board called My Doctor's Attitude.  You can just click on those blue words to get there, of you can find it from the main page here (called Power Surge Message Board ).

Best of luck to you!
