Seriously, I don't know how I would have survived with Power Surge. I was a lurker first on the AOL Power Surge boards. My husband was very close to dying (the surgeon performed a miracle!) and I would log on to the boards and just read. Everyone sounded so nice and friendly, and had a lot of laughs. It was my anchor in the night when I had no one to talk to and was so scared about the future.

Of course, I started talking a *bit* since then and the boards and website have grown a LOT since those early days. But, thanks to Dearest, the same welcoming, friend-in-the-scary-night feeling has been retained. So many message boards deteriorate with time as members try to take over and mold it into the way that they want things to be. I'm so thankful that Dearest has provided a hands-on place and maintains that after all these years so that the ambiance here doesn't change.

I am so proud to be a member here and to call its founder, Dearest / Alice my friend. My life has changed for the better thanks to you and Power Surge. Thank you!

The Gifts for 12th Anniversaries are traditionally "SILK", and the Modern gifts are "PEARLS" and "COLOURED GEMS".
I am really trying hard to think of some wonderful Poem that might tie these items together, but my brain is not working on all cylinders today. So maybe someone else can try with the words:

And, after doing a great deal of reading and sharing, suddenly you

You learn more and more, become empowered, take on a new attitude
And those feelings of rawness which slowly developed a slight hue (like pearls)
Have now grown within the newly enlightened woman
