Dearest,

THANK YOU [sorry to shout] for reposting your older messages about heart symptoms! This has been the most worrisome perimenopause symptom I have had and lucky me, I've had many, many!

In my case, I am also hypothyroid [as I learned here, they go hand in hand for lots of gals], so my pounding, skipping heart was off to races about a year ago. After several EKG's, an echo, a stress test & holter monitor, I learned that I do have very mild Mitral Valve Prolapse as well, so I hit the "tri-fecta" for these symptoms. Long-short is, my heart is okay [Thank you Dear Lord], but have skipped beats even w/ atenolol which I take to help tolerate the thyroid med's I will need to take for the rest of my life...

Even tho' my brain KNOWS everything is alright, having your repostings to reassure my anxiety is a true blessing. Like my doc's, but they couldn't [wouldn't?!] answer why I kept having skipped beats even w/ all proper medications... So, have saved this board as one of my "favorites" to go to when I need reassurance that all is well and this too shall pass!

Have gotten very good results by taking Magnesium, cutting out as much sugar as possible [murder during the holidays, so had lots more skips then], alcohol & no caffeine. I miss chocolate to beat the band, but love that my heart is calming down even more. All this info I learned at Power-Surge and I can't say enough how much I appreciate this site where comfort and knowledge are available 24/7.

As a newbie, I am just learning about how much you have gone through personally. Please accept my heartfelt wishes and positive energy for your renewed good health and comfort.
Bless you and Happy New Year!
