hi, i am new here and need some advice. i have a sore, red, itcy vagina. i have tried they yeast meds and they have not helped. i have tried the ¨home remedy¨of garlic and well it may of helped a little. last night i washed with yogart and it took care of the burning for a few hours. today i washed again with it and then applied oil and the itchyness seems to have stopped for a bit. i do have a small discharge, but it is clear and i do not have an odor (aside for the garlic smell now).. any comments? did my vagina just get dried out? i have not had this before; but i have had yeast infections in the past and the meds and creams usually clear it up but this came this week after i finished ovaluting.. thanks for any feedback

Hi Crankody, and welcome to Power-Surge,

Have you been to a doctor? It's possible that you have an infection that's particularly persistent.

Also, some women have "vulvodynia," this is pain in the vagina that isn't caused by infection, and isn't helped by the usual meds. I suffered with itching for many years that was NOT helped by anything except Benadryl cream. Then one day (after like 10 years!) it just went away, and never returned. So strange!

I'd definitely talk to the doc about this one, just in case it's a different kind of infection, etc. Hoping you feel better soon.

Declining and changing hormones can also bring this irritation on. You might want
to check with your doctor if this still persists. The change in hormones can change
the pH level and give you a sore, red, vagina. You might need a special cream
for this from your doctor.

I have experienced similar problems. I bought the vaginal moisturizer "Replens" that is recommended here and let me tell you - it's a god-send!! biggrin.gif
What a difference it makes!
You might try it.... that "dryness" issue can cause all sorts of discomforts. mad.gif

Hi Everyone,
Dryness be gone! I use Replens. Don't know where I'd be without it either.
Have you girls tried Astroglide too -- It's SOOOOOO good. My husband has given it a name, but can't print THAT---it's because HE's happy I found it on-line. It's made in America AND available on-line for us UK girls & Europeans!! Don't know if you get it in Australia though. IT can make sex better again .
Antique wink.gif Be warned it's VERY slippery.
