Here's the thing: The Good News, Cholestrol doing fine, sugar levels excellent, iron levels are coming up again (Phew), I'm soooooo pleased about all of these results, I just wanted to share that with you. Even my blood pressure is beginning to settle down, it seems to be elevated when I'm active and when I'm rested it comes down again, and I'm guessing all that is good. I'm soooooo relieved as now I can relieve my anxiety when it comes with reassurance about the results. I went to my physio this morning and told him about the twitches and cramps in my muscles and that I've started taking magnesium tablets. Next thing I know he is producing acapuncture needles and inserting them to help the Ying and Yan. Do any of you or have any of you tried acapuncture for any of your symptoms. As all my tests came back good, I thought I'd be open minded about this and it can't hurt. I'd love some feedback from any of you. As I type this I'm feeling pretty good (just for a change). Wow, this is as hopeful as I've felt in about 9 months. If only we could bottle this feeling up and sell it, we'd be million no trillionaires

It is GREAT news that you are doing well.
I haven't personally tried accupuncture, but know many people feel helped by it. It's an ancient practice, and has been shown to be effective in lots of medical trials.
Personally, if it would take away all my peri stuff, I'd be only too happy to have needles inserted in my "Ying-Yang."
Thanks for sharing your good news,
JJ

I"ve been using acupunture for about a year now for my peri symptoms. it has eliminated my headaches, helped my hot flashes and heat surges, given me more energy, helped my bowels, adn overall has made me feel alot better.
my acupuncturist is also a licesnsed herbolist so I get my peri herbs in extract form from her to help with hot flashes, weakness, anxiety, fatigue, overall energy, dizziness etc...really helps...
I"m not sure where i'd be without these weekly sessions..i know i can maintain a full time job still along with all my symptoms so i'm happy that it allows me to do that. the extracts work immediately, so if i get a hot flash, dizzy or anxious, i use a droperful of the tincture and it's gone..and I can go on with my day...it's wonderful...
the acupunture also helps with the really heavy bleeding during my period too....it's been a godsend..but i'm a believer in alternative medicine as you all know..that and my reiki is helping me survive this nightmare!

I'm glad it has worked for you, but there are others who have tried it and it has not worked for them so who knows. I haven't tried it personally because it's not covered by insurance. I'm investigating conventional methods first but might have to try it if nothing else works.

Hello copingcapers! I wanted to let you know my experience with acupuncture. The symptoms I was having had me convinced I had a terrible disease and caused such anxiety that I could not function, I truly thought I was losing my mind. I went for acupuncture in April 2005 and have not had axiety since. I left there feeling like I had had a few drinks, I was so relaxed. I have momentarily worried about a symptom since then but nothing like I was last year. I've gone a few times since, just because it makes me feel so good. It was as relaxing to me as a massage with dim lights and soft oriental music (one time I fell asleep). Our insurance does not cover it but we were given a list of places that would given us a discounted rate. I paid $45 per visit. I put alot of stock in alternative medicine and also believe the mind can also be a great healer. I don't know if the acupuncture helped me or if my thinking it could help me did it, all I know is that I have not had a problem with anxiety since. Good Luck!
