I am SO glad I found this forum. At last, I found a place where other people are going through the same things I am.
This month has been real fun. Hot flashes and naseau daily. Tums in my pockets, and tee shirts in December.
At least I know others feel the same way and it is not all in my head.

Welcome, Schip.
I'm glad you found this site, too. It's kept me from many an ER visit!
Going thru the same stuff...all sorts of aches, pains, symptoms and OTC meds...oops where is that muscle relaxer?
LOL
Lots of wisdom and humor on this site.
Again, welcome!

Debbie,
I am like you, I just feel hot all the time and the heat never leaves. Are you taking anything to help with this? I don't mine feeling hot all the time but I have this consistent ringing in my head (more like a low pich whinning) that accompanies the hot feeling.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi Plumeria,
Great to hear from you.......no I dont seem to have a ringing that accompanies this hot feeling...but I do get nauseaus sometimes for days on end.....its nasty. I do seem to be a little foggy....my head is spacey...things I say frequently dont come out right and I feel like I need my bed.
I dont take anything yet....My Dr. has prescribed Provera...to regulate my periods...a low dosage or hormone she says..but Im afraid to take it. Have you tried anything?

Hi Debbie,
I tried the bioidentical progesterone and it helped a bit but recently my hormones have taken a nose dive and this doesn't seem to help much.
I don't really know what to do but I am going to try and make an appointment with my doctor to see what he can offer. Yes,its a he...
Lately, I feel much hotter than normal. I am essentially hot all the time as of late.
Take care,
Plumeria

I actually don't mind feeling hot, since before this 'change' I was always COLD. I just don't like this nausea and dizzy feeling...but I see from this excellent forum that I am not alone!!

Hey Ladies,
Plumeria I wanted to let you know that I also have that terrrible ringing in the ears.
My hot flashes are different, sometimes I get really hot but only sweat under my right armpit and get somewhat lightheaded. Other times I get hot whooshes as I call them they seem to start in the pit of my stomach and it feels like it is dropping, and the other times I get cold flashes, they seem to start in my knees and go up to my head.
I wonder how we are not all in the insane room at the hospital sometimes
The other night I was thinking that I am having a heart attack and brain tumor, or stroke all at the same time and that my stomach was going to blow up
Anyway, I just thought I would let you know that you are not alone with the ringing ear thing.

Hi ladies
I am 50, just went 60 days with no sign of a period, and thought this is it! But today it started!!! What am I to expect to happen now, I am worried I am in for an awful period now, but who knows.
The most recent thing I have is loud tinnitus, almost all the time, in the past few months, I am hoping it is due to the menopause, and am relieved to see some above posts about it. Hope it goes away, as its very hard to relax, with constant buzzing in ones head!! We can only hope!

Alfreda,
I PMed you also, but when did this loud tinnitus start for you? Mine started on Dec. 9 and is relentless. Sometimes, it is not as loud but it is most obvious at night.
How can you sleep? I have an appointment with an audiologist today and an ENT
doctor at the end of the month...don't really know what they can do.
I am also experiencing a sensitivity to noise, sometimes things seem really loud to me.
Did the tinnitus start when you started skipping period? God, I hope this goes away or at least become less intense and/or less frequent when we get through
menopause.
Anyone post menopause that can give us some feedback. Is hormones the answer?

My ringing strarted about 3 months ago. I went to the stupid doctor and she looked in my ears and said I don't see anything, then gave me antibotics. Big help she was!!
Mine comes and goes, sometimes it isn't there others days I want to stick a screwdriver in my head to make it stop. Mine started about when all this other stuff started: headaches, dizziness, hot flashes, cold flashes, and the list goes on.
I have noticed that really loud sounds makes it worst, or sometimes they make a crackling sound. Its like they are clogged and something is trying to come out. Other times it is just painful, I guess I have gotten used to it for the most part.
Sure would love to hear what your doctors had to say. I am sorry that you are having this problem, I am so glad that I am not alone.
Good luck and keep us posted

I have the same problem. Tinitis, however only in my right ear. I have cleaned it, and Candled it twice and I have asked the Doctor about it. She say's that it's as clean as can be and that there are no signs of infection. No Inflamation, nothing. To me, it feels like it's wet inside and the sound varies from ringing or buzzing to crackling. I feel like I have dimished hearing in the ear as well. I think I'm going to go see My Doctor one more time about it and if there's no real problems, I'll have to accept it as a Peri Symptom.

My pain seems to come from when I am having bad headaches with hot flashes. Maybe I am confusing the pain with the ear and head
Wouldn't be hard, sometimes the way I feel these days
