Hey guys, does anyone out there have any experience with taking oral synthetic progesterone to induce a period?

Specifically, how long does it take?

I've done this once before and I started bleeding within a day of taking the progesterone. Now I'm on day...four, I think. Still no period, but lots and lot of cramps.

Hi RoundRobin

I just started taking progesterone last month. Suppose to take every month from days 12-25. Last month it took about 4 says for my period to start. If your cramping you should start soon. This month I started while taking it <_< Every month a new adventure! Good luck and take Care!

Cathy: Thanks. I keep getting cramps, but they go away and nothing happens. I'm getting kind of worried. My gyno said if I take the progesterone for 10 days and still don't bleed, I have to come for "further tests."

Again...has anyone ever tried the progesterone to induce your period and it HASN'T worked?

I thought the progestogen stops you from having a period and when you stop taking it then after a couple of days or so you may start your period! or is progetogen a different type of hormone thingy to progesterone!!!! I'm confused ohmy.gif

If it's supposed to start your period and doesn't, wouldn't that mean you are done with the periods?

Why further tests? Seems to me that would mean you aren't meant to have anymore. I'm confused too!
