Okay guys.....my mum has had trouble with her ureters for years now in that they narrow and constrict causing discomfort and bleeding on voiding. Her doctor has suggested that she may benefit more from HRT than having the stretching procedure done again and again (she has had it like twice a year for about 7 years now). Anyone have any thoughts on this at all??????? PS...she is already through menopause.

jadie,
If your mom is already through menopause and her hormones have settled down, I would NOT do the HRT. She may have to come down off that stuff some day and go through symptoms all over again. There has got to be something else out there for her. Just my opinion.....

If it works, try it. If it does not work or make her more ill, stop. If she can postpone more invasive procedures for a while, it might be helpful. Has she had a second or third opinion from other Urologists or Gynocologists?
I guess you're going to get the whole range of replies here.

I say, Id have to agree with both Kid and Snork....one stay away from HRT, and the other, get some other opinions from specialists.
Maybe you could ask Pete The Pharmistis here too for some other ideas...

I had that surgery once. Wouldn't do it the second time. I did acupuncture and chinese herbs. I haven't had a problem since. Another thought is Estrace cream - it is more local (used vaginally).
