I had the doctor increase my paxil so today started on 20mg instead of the 10 I was taking. Within an hour of taking it today I was out cold on the couch...fast asleep!! Then upon waking I am trembly and having heart palps.......is this normal for an increase in this med?? Anyone know? Now keep in mind here...I have had the vertigo for over a week now (appears to be viral however as I now have sore throat and cough symptoms too). I also started taking Gravol ginger yesterday for the spins (its a herbal form of gravol that doesnt cause drowsiness).

Yes, an increase in Paxil can cause temporary increase in anxiety/panic. Call your doc and have him/her prescibe a benzo like xanax or ativan to take temporarily until the Paxil is in full effect. You also may want to consider, with your doctor's approval of course, going down to 15mgs for a few days then to 20mgs.
