canuck
Hi,
I've noticed many of the posts include dizziness, shortness of breath and anxiety related symptoms when discussing whether or not you think peri/menopause is the root cause. But I'd like to know if any of you actually get dizzy to the point of passing out or finding yourself on the floor unable to do much about it for at least two or more minutes??

Did you have anxiety issues before??? Finding yourself panicking inside when you go into a very familiar supermarket or having to fight yourself from driving the brake pedal through the floor of the car while driving home.....a drive you make every workday???

I'd like to hear more about these three main issues and just how BAD they've become in your day to day and what you've done to try and cope with them or, if there is a god, get rid of them altogether.......

I've been on anti-anxiety pills (celexa) and I take ativan as required and it has made me able to return to work without too much problem....(occasionally I feel like something gross is going to happen).....but it's 'manageable'.....but just yesterday I found myself face down in the dogs bed.....not nice....for at least two to three minutes and was unable to do anything about it.......and was white as a sheet for at least half the day following........having a real difficult time deciding that this is something I must cope with......so any thoughts you might have would be wonderful.......

should add that I've had the holter test monitor/EEG/EKG/seen two specialists etc....and all is normal with heart/blood/head.......but man this is so frustrating.

help?

Yes, these symptoms are annoying and I'm sorry to hear that are dizzy to the point of passing out.

I thank God for keeping me throughout all the anxiety, off balance feeling, dizziness, spacey/unreal feeling, mood swings, hot flashes that felt like I was sitting on a grill, and all the other symptoms associated with hormone imbalance.

What other test have your doctor performed?

To answer your questions no I did not have anxiety issues before...except for those that were triggered by my irritable bowel syndrome, but that's another issue that is under control.

When my perimenopausal symptoms became severe I was having panic attacks multiple times a day, my anxiety level was to the point that I did not want to remain alone in my own house and had my family drive me just about every where...going in public was stressful and forget about being around crowd...back then a crowd could be 3 people smile.gif. I was dizzy, spacey, felt unreal, with all of my body vibrating 24/7. Thank You Jesus for deliverance.

I can definitely sympathsize with your frustration with dealing with these symptoms since I've been there and I'm still dealing with some, but it does get better. smile.gif cool.gif

Geeze I went last nite to pick my son up from work and damn near went off the road....my perception is all off lately......to me the car in the lane beside me looked like it was veering into my lane.......so stupid me turned the wheel to the right.....when in fact the other car was right where it was sposed to be.......I used to be such a good driver and now I feel like I am scared to get behind the wheel. If a vehicle pulls out in front of me or gets too close my heart starts to race and I am certain I leave fingerprints in the steering wheel..........its really upsetting somedays.
