They are starting to feel like I have walked into a overheated foggy sauna. It feels like a heavy, hot, wet feeling. Very uncomfortable.
Anyone else?

Hi KK,
My hotflashes were very severe. They started off bearable for about 1 year, than bamm!!! I was in HELL! It was the most miserable experience I have ever gone through. I was convinced that no one else in the world had flashes as bad as me. My flashes came every 15-20 minutes all day and night. I guess in all my severe flashes lasted about a year. Now I am happy to say that even though I still have flashes, they don't come as often and they are not severe at all. I don't even break a sweat anymore. They will get easier. Hang in there!
Hugs!

Yes, mine have changed too. I first felt very frightened and nauseous then I would flash. Now they're not so often and usually come on like a slow warmth working up from the waist. Thankfully the nauseous feeling is not so often nowadays!

Mine were and sometimes still are like a prickly feeling under and on my skin then the heat moves from inside to the skin. I sweat mostly in the morning and early afternoons. On bad days I get about three every hour.
I will go in for blood work on the 16th. That day can't get here any quicker!

Hi, My name is Kat and I am new to this. First actual post yesterday. But, about the hot flashes, I now get them (I am 40) and they seem to be hot feelings in my chest and then, bam, my face is so so so hot and red. Is that normal? I suppose none of this is normal, but, does it normally get so red? Lasts about 1/2 hour then goes. Usually, this is during the middle of the work day. I am a school teacher and my students just love that. I know when I am at my reddest b/c they feel the need to tell me. And, I don't usually sweat. Is that normal? How can I be so so so hot and my body not sweat. Funny thing, I was at the doc's yesterday (for my Fibromyalgia diagnosis) and I started flashing, I felt it. Anyway, before I got really red, the nurse was doing my BP and temp and all. I was feeling like, Oh yeah, my temp. is going to be like 104, I am going to be admitted etc. etc. (Crazy self talk) Well, when she ever said, "It is 98.4, I thought I would fall on the floor. I have a lot to learn. Also, last thing (for the moment) My blood pressure seems higher. It is like 122 over 90 lately. I know that might sound really good to some people, but, mine has always been like 100 over 60. So, this is high for me. Lastly, (really, this time) I have been doing those uring tests to see if I am menopausal or whatnot, and, never have been. But, I am telling you, every symptom that you all talk about, I have. Oh, forgot, why do I read that some people take aspirin daily? For pain or for blood thinning??? Thank you all. Can't sleep, so if anyone is awake, love to talk. Kat

Hmmmmmmmm...someone read this and thought I'll show her!
I've had some doozies since I posted and have actually had to sit in my bra while my top dries over the radiator!
From now on my lips are sealed!
