Hi,
I am in the fourth week of a period now and it is still going strong..ugh! I like to exercise, usualy with tapes in front of the tv and on Fridays, I play ice hockey (not very well but I enjoy it!) with a league of fun and like minded women. Can anyone tell me if it is ok or foolish to try to continue with exercise while this bleeding is going on?
I am 46 and apparently in perimenopause though this prolonged bleeding thing is new to me.

If you are still bleeding after 4 weeks....I'd be checking with your doctor...you have lost a lot of blood and your iron stores may be depleted. Do you have energy? (I remember having a lot of bleeding while on the pill and forgetting to take it...and it wiped me out). If you feel like exercising...I don't think there is any harm, but the length of your period seems excessive and may need to be medically addressed.

It is true that I am tired a lot... could be partly due to the fact that all this coincides with a particularly heavy work schedule too. I have been in touch with my doc and I am on iron tablets. doc doesnt seem too woried about the bleeding but I am definitly ready for it to go away. I have not been doing much exercise lately because I didnt want to agravate things. Think I will give it another week and see what happens.T
hank you for your response.

If I'm bleeding heavily, I will often reduce my workout or modify it. Sometimes with the heavy stuff I get dizzy and weak...and I definately don't want to drop my weights!
**CRASH** LMAO
I try to exercise thru it all, but it's on a day to day basis during my period.
