Having a tough time lately - anxiety, depression. Doctor did bloodwork yesterday to check my hormones. After not having a period for 2yrs can my hormones be enough out of whack to give me anxiety, depression?

yes, they can. There are women here who didn't experience any symptoms until after meno hit. There are women who got it all - before and a few years after. And if you were taking any kind of HRT before meno, it is possible you are feeling the hormone swings after going off that.
Keep reading and posting, there are answers here!

thank you - maybe Im not as "nuts" as I appear
I was only on HRT (Femhrt?) for a month or so. It made me have my period back so I went off!
We'll have to wait and see the bloodtest results.
Meanwhile another doctor has put me on zoloft

You can definitely start having problems WELL after in full menopause. I have had the anxiety/depression for a year and a half after close to a year of no period and only hot flashes as a symptom. I thought I was home free.
Make SURE your doc checks your thyroid level. The glands are so inter related and the symptoms so close that it can be either/and sexual hormones and thyroid hormones. That's where I am at the moment. Menopause caused an already impaired gland to begin to become very unstable but symptoms didn't develope until I had the physical trauma of three surgeries. Since then I've been hypo/hyper, everywhere in between and miserable!
Get your TSH and your free T4 and free T3 checked. You never know if it's effecting you....and check some thyroid forums. You'll see how similar the symptoms are.
Good luck,
Barbara
