I just googled "head pressure" and "brain fog" and picked up a conversation thread on this site that made me feel instantly better! (If misery LOVES company, you can just call me misery!) wink.gif

I'm 42 and I've been struggling against my body on and off for the past two years. Since the battle wasn't continuous, I always emerged from it grateful that I 'shrugged off whatever that was' only to be re-besieged in a few weeks. When it all began, I went to one doctor who delightedly gave me $800+ worth of blood tests, only to tell me that he couldn't find anything. mad.gif A few months ago, I reluctantly submitted to another $200+ battery of tests with the same result. I told the second doc that I thought I might be menopausal - listed my symptoms: intermittent brain fog occasionally accompanied by what I call "brain sock" (that's where it feels like someone slipped a tube sock over my brain), heart palpatations, dizziness, insomnia (that my poor husband, at risk of his life, keeps mistaking for ardor), bloating (I swear I've seen goldfish swim past my eyes), and if that's not bad enough, an entire choir of bell-ringing pygmies snuck into my ears and set up shop in the sock under my skull. They play non-stop.

Dearest - thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU for setting up this site!

Chrysalis--I could not agree more..Dearest..I wish I could meet you in person just to say THANK YOU! This site has helped me learn more in 1 month..it's AMAZING! I never, in my wildest dreams, thought perimenopause was even a WORD or a condition, much less would bring on "head fullness" along with a host of other things..crazy stuff! I could never thank everyone enough for all of the support and helpfulness that I've found here biggrin.gif

Ain't it the best?

I don't come as often as I did, but whenever the new symptoms kick in, you KNOW I come here first, before I fly off the wall. ohmy.gif

The girls here ARE the bottom line when you thoink you are going crazy.

I agree, joining this site is the best thing I have done in a long time. When I read some of the symptoms on other posts, I now realise I am not going completely mad. smile.gif

It was the best for me. I am saving "thousands" just by reading everyone's symptoms and deciding the doctor's office will just have to wait. I feel instantly better just reading that someone is "suffering" the same symptom(s) as I am. Went one time to the doctor's and found out that menopause produces vasomotor symptoms and was prescribed Paxil. If what is happening to me is "normal" for most women, then why medicate it unless unable to tolerate it. "This to shall pass." I say that over and over when another symptom comes "a'knockin." It seems to help.
