My body temperature fluctuates all through the day. Sometimes its normal @ 98.6 and then I will feel my face getting hot and 75% of the time if I take my temp with thermometer it will read between 99 and 99.4. It will stay that way sometimes for minutes, sometimes an hour or more and then go back down. This happens sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. Can hot flashes cause your temp to actually go up or is a hot flash just the sensation of warmth? I've only been having increased peri symptoms the last three weeks.

I have actually taken my temp once or twice when it felt like I was SURELY getting a fever, and it was around 99ish. Then about 20 minutes later when I took it, was down to 98.6. Go figure. I suppose it's possible for the body temp to flucuate with a hot flash. My temp normally runs anywhere from 97 to normal. But then again, what IS normal for the meno gal???

I am just beginning to get what feel like hot flashes, or flushes.....I am 42. I thought I was getting sick at first, but when they started coming and lasting only a minute or so, I begin taking my temp, and indeed, it has fluctuated from normal up to 99.5 and back down to normal.

Did the experiment..was 100! it's ok now....does that mean ..Im one Hot DaMomma?!!!

I have mentioned body temp to my gyno a couple of times. I have always been the woman that wares a coat even in the summer. My hubby and I have had the window battle for the last 12 years. Ever since this started he is in heaven because now I don't want the window closed. I KNOW my body temp has changed. I didn't think I was having hot flashes. However, lately I have noticed that I will just be sitting reading and all the sudden I will be sweating like crazy. Nothing else happens I just break out in a noticable sweat. I have never taken my temp at those times but to quote a earlier post I to feel a experiment coming on, LOL.
