Good mornin' Girls....
How odd is this? Two days ago I returned from a 12 day vacation to the Outer Banks of NC. During the 12 days there I had maybe 3 or 4 hot flashes, very minor, and absolutely no night sweats. Prior to vacation was having wicked flashes 7 to 10 times a day, and killer night sweats waking me 5 or more times a night. I return home and WHAMO the flashes and sweats are back with a vengence.
Now I know what you are all thinking....well sure...you were on vacation, no stress, life is good. Huh uh. Believe me when I tell you that this was not a stress free vacation. The first 4 days were spent in a campground. In a tiny truck camper. It was wicked hot and humid. When not at the beach, we had to huddle in the camper to be in air conditioning. All 4 of us. My husband,my daughter, my 3 year old grandson, who is a spirited child to say the least , and myself. In the evenings we couldn't be outside because of all the insects. On day 5 we moved into a beach cottage, which was a vast improvement, however, the stress continued, said spirited child attached himself to my hip, only had one 4WD vehicle so there were logistical nightmares in getting everyone herded to the beach, daughter's husband arrived and they were snippy with one another, problems with truck on beach, etc, etc. etc.
Any vacation is a good vacation. My point is that this was not a peaceful, quiet, romantic getaway with just my husband. So why in the world would my hot flashes and nightsweats disappear??? It was WONDERFUL...but WHY??? Being at sea level? The salt air? It's bizarre. The other meno symptoms did not disappear...brain fog, bloating, the dizzies....if they had all vanished I'd be packing to move right now. Just wondering if any of you had experienced this while away from home.
Thanks and have a great day!!!!
