Hi, Can anyone recommend a good doc in the South Jersey area that has experience with peri menopause. I love my doc but he is not having any of this peri stuff since I'm only 41. He only recommends low dose bcp's and estrovan and does not sound that optimistic that this will help. I need someone who understands this process better than my doc.
Some of my ridiculous symptoms are, lightheaded all the time, heart palps, numbness in legs and arms anxiety, chest pains, etc., etc., etc.... I had all this and checked out and they say I'm perfectly normal HA, Ha, Ha.! Normal....what's that? I haven't felt normal in 3yrs.

Hope someone out there has found relief in South Jersey (Cherry Hill area)

Thanks!!!!

babsmj,

I'm not from NJ, but I did get great advice from someone on this site to check out the American Menopause Society. I found a great meno clinic from that site in my city.

Good luck, I know how you feel.

Babs, I live in Glassboro, and I sent you a PM with a couple of doctors to look into.

babs,

You can always get recommendations for doctors who specialize in menopause from Power Surge's menopause / pharmaceutical consultant, Pete Hueseman. Pete's been with Power Surge for 10 years and can recommend doctors all over the country.

Hi Babs,

I am seeing a nurse practitioner/certified nurse mid-wife. She is wonderful! I live in a small town and go to a bigger town to see her. She practiced for quite a while in Indianapolis. The first time I saw her she spent 1.5 hours with me. The second time she spent 1 hour with me. She has called me at home twice to "check in" on me to make sure I am doing ok. In my area I do not believe I could have went to an OBGYN and got the kind of care I am receiving from her. She also believes in trying natural supplements but always leaves the option up to the woman as to how she wants to treat her symptoms. So, a nurse practitioner is another option.

I'm going to piggy back on this post and ask about a good doctor in Orlando Florida. I've already viewed the list of dr. under the menopause society, but I really prefer to see a dr. who was recommended. I've had so many not so pleasant experiences with doctors.
