Hi everyone here is the update!

OK so it's be 6 months of this and they are really starting to get to me. I have had a few periods of less than normal so I thought the mag-cal was taking care of it or what ever the treatment of the day was. Now they are just basically all the time. slight vibration 24/7 and of course during the period is worse. I said in the beginning that I am on a quest and I will keep searching until I find the answer. I'm running out of options.

I've had blood work 4 x, hair analysis, meridian points checked, thyroid checked 3 times, ekg, echo's x2, saliva test, urine 24 hr collection for hormones, accupunture, gua-sha, I've been to 12 Doctors (both medical and Naturopathic), spent $20,000 out of my pocket (above and beyond my insurance), flew to California to participate in a wellness program with a welknown Dr., drove to Alabama to another center, read probably 20 books on hormones, healing, anxiety, bought the Revival bars and shakes, took the bio identical Progesterone tabs from Bellevue Pharmacy, I've bought every supplement even thought of and nothing has helped.

The Dr's still give me the deer in the headlights look when I talk about it. I know that they are guessing as they sell me another one of their supplements to "try". I have moved on from the MD's who didn't know anything and just wanted to write me an RX for anxiety......now I am am swimming in the pond of ND's, accupuncturists, etc. All pawning their supplements.

Now besides my tremors being 24/7 (which is worse than in the beginning) I am nauseated all the time from trying to choke down the 70 pills a day of supplements that they want me to take.

Anway, that's where I am at this point....nothing new learned......how about you folks? Anyone have any new tips on getting rid of tremors? Anyone find a Dr. who can explain it? Someone in here said that their Dr. said it is from cells wanting to be bathed with estrogen and when it is low then it causes the tremors to happen. Well, that can't be true for me because in all my hormone panels, my estrogen is fine, it is not low. Just my esterone is elevated (55).

Just thought I would share my update and see what everyone else has discovered.

Hi Jenny,

Internal tremors is one of the few symptoms that I have or have ever had. I feel for you. Actually, all these symptoms just zap ya! Are you seriously taking 70 pills a day??????? (I hope not)! Is it your Estrone that you say is elevated? I know labs values differ depending on the lab but my Estrone was 56. The range was anything 55 or less as being postmenopausal ohmy.gif
My estriol was 0.06 normal being 0-0.3
Estradiol 59 normal being 10-388
Progesterone 5.7 normal being 0.0- 21.0
Testosterone 2.2 normal bing 0.6- 6.7
FSH normal at 9.8

DHEA was high at 373 with normal being 45-270

All my labs were on the low side. They recommended bcp, progesterone supplement, fish oil, magnesium gel.

I have not taken anything as of yet. Am trying to grin and bear it blink.gif

We all know lab values can change as hormone levels rise and fall. All these tests were done in my Luteal phase if that means anything. Anyone out there have labs similiar to mine? If so, what did your doc say about them?

Take care,
Jill~

Thanks everyone for your supportive posts. I am taking 70 pills a day. This one Dr. has me takign a multi vitamin that I have to take 8 and with the Power-surge mag cal supplements I have to take 8 of those a day also....that is just to begin with sad.gif I hate it.

As far as the esterone level 55 being post menopausal, that is funny since I am still cycling normally each month. LOL My ND told me it puts me at risk for breast cancer so I have to work on getting that number down.

Bellevue Pharmacy told me to take Cervaplexx 13C to help get that # down. It has indole 3 Carbinol 400mg and I am supposed to take 1 a day.

I appreciate hearing from everyone who says the tremors stopped eventually. Did you have the tremors 24/7 when you had them? Did anything make them better or worse?

I am taking taurine, Omega 3 and Mag-cal to help with them sad.gif

I just can't think of any other avenues to go down. It's just scarey and it makes me constantly doubt that I am ok and it's jsut perimenopause. I just want to move on with my life.

I am sure you all understand that soooooo well! UGH!

You know it is funny. I am telling you I have bought probably 10 hormone related books and I have gone to Borders and sat on the floor flipping through every book they have on their shelves and not one book mentions this shaking...not one! That just amazes me.

Well, thanks again ladies for listening... all I have to say is Thank God for this site!

Hugs,
Jenny

Hi Jenny; wink.gif

From personal experience I know what those tremors feel like. I am a Type 2 Diabetic and my GP says that the tremors may be related to my Glucose Levels.
I am working on figuring out a way to make them stop.
My mother, Born in 1920, now deceased 3 years, experienced tremors her whole perimeno and post meno life. She too was a type 2 Diabetic. Her tremors became visible to all in her 60's. Her GP called it "Benign Tremors" because there apparently was no underlying cause.
Sorry I can't give any answers.

Jenny, it is bizarre that books about menopause don't mention the tremors. They certainly are very common around here!

I started perimenopause at age 48. My first symptom was the tremor, and I continue to have tremors (rarely) although in very tiny spots to this day and I am 56. I don't even give them a thought anymore. Sometimes they occupy a space as small as a dime. Once you realize what they are from, you can begin to ignore them and they don't upset you quite so much. In this regard (and many others), I applaud Dearest for acknowledging this nasty symptom and the fact that she, too, suffered with it.

Do not fear! They do subside greatly, and I'm sure disappear eventually altogether. It is actually very rare for me to have them now, and like I said above, I don't give them a second thought! Hang in there!

I had the tremors for a very short time, but they made me miserable. I am now dealing with the severe fatigue and muscle twitching 24/7. I get no relief at all and have been dealing with it for almost a year. My doctors have really been no help either and have not even mentioned fatigue as a meno symptom. I have days when I honestly don't know if I will make it. I know we are not experiencing the same symptom but I know what it is like to be dealing with a symptom 24 hours a day. I was just wondering that if the 70 pills you are taking are not helping, then I would not take as many. I have a hard time taking the 8 or so that I take every day that I can't imagine taking that many. I wish I had some answers for you, but I too am having a very hard time with my particular symptoms and no one knows what to do for me either. My doctor also told me I probably won't not have another period and since then I have had three. My FSH was 65 or something like that. I guess that is what made him say that.

Anyway, I want my life back too. Hang in there and hopefully one day this will all be a memory (a bad one) and we can help other people who come along with these symptoms too.

Try taking a good complex B complex.
Also keep taking the mag.

Hope you feel better soon.

I started getting the internal shaking almost three years ago. It got to the point where it was 24/7 and almost my entire body. Sometimes it would go away for a while, but it would come back. I am now at a point where I have more days that I don't have them and it's not nearly as bad.
PixieGirl
Oh my gosh......3 years. That's depressing sad.gif

I have had the tremors for about a year. Magnesium helps, and I also took Angel's advice on the B Complex, which I think also helps (thanks Angel).

It's fruitless to keep taking so many supplements, especially if they aren't doing anything for you. If a supplement is not helping, stop taking it. No one can take so many pills a day, and that would probably hurt more than it helps you. You need to try one, maybe two things at a time. If they show no effect, stop taking them and move on. I have taken my symptoms one at a time, started with whatever I thought was my worst symptom, and when I find something that helps that symptom, I move onto the next. I have tried many things that don't work for me, although they may work for others.

Thanks to everyone for all the messages. It is the one thing that keeps me going is that I know I can come here and there will be people who care! It helps to know that others are going through this also. You know how it is, we all feel like we are the ONLY ONE going through it.

I agree with you that I am taking too much and I have stopped taking a lot of the "potions" that I have been sold.

Currently I am taking:
Vit C
Multi Vitamin
Omega 3
Mag-Cal
Taurine
LCarnitine
C0Q10
Isocort
Evening Primrose
Adrenal Stress Formula
Adrenal Rebuilder
Cervaplexx 13C (lowers Esterone, mine is 55)

The problem is that so may of these I have to take large amounts. I really want to switch some of them. I don't want to have to take 8 pills as my multi vitamin. You know?

Linderful, I can't post a web site in here (I think it is a violation) but google Dr. John McDougall. I know first hand that from diet alone he can help you "cure" and I mean "CURE" diabetes. I have known person after person that have gotten off insulin under his care and cholestral dtopped naturally. No supplements, he's not selling any supplements...just change in diet. Go to his site and spend some time reading about it. You can email him directly and I guarantee he will personally write you back within 24 hrs. Good luck with that. I hope you will look into it smile.gif

I'm going to keep searching for answers and all of you will be the first to know smile.gif

Hi Everyone,

I too get tremors off and on and I'm currently not taking the B complex (have been taking magnesium for quite awhile). I'm going to start the B complex. Can anyone recommend a particular type or brand and how much do you take?

While the tremors are annoying I can handle them...other symptoms annoy me more. Wish I'd just get over this peri hump and feel at least somewhat normal.
One day at a time....right <_<

Jenny,
I have to ask....how much more money are you willing to throw away before you finally realize that these symptoms are caused by perimenopause, and no doctor is going to tell you that? You've done your due diligence (actually over-done it) and determined that there is nothing serious wrong with you. There are a million people out there dying to take your money if you will give it to them, which it appears that you are doing quite easily. I would have questioned half the offers you've had way before I handed over thousands of dollars. The answer is right in front of you in all these stories of women going through the exact same thing. You need to accept that and take this for what it is. Next you need to give up your 70+ a day pills, and find the few that really make you feel better - what works for one person may not work for another. You need to take a step back, assess what you've learned, and decide if this is what you want to be doing for maybe the next 10 years......you could be out tens of thousands more if you keep up at this pace and probably won't know anything more than you know today.

Really, just want to help. You've already got your answer.

Good morning all. I found this info after a lot of searching-years. I find it very interesting.
I have had this buzzing etc. for a long time and have NEVER read about another person feeling this way.
I can relate to the deer in the headlights comment about health care professionals. I am 51 haven't had a period in years. Experienced 1 hot flash last year. I never occurred to me that it might be related to hormones. Is this all annecdotal information or is there some scientific evidence to support this theory?
I see an internist for a PCP instead of a gyne. The muscle tremors got so bad about 6 weeks ago that my dr. thought it might be heavy metal poisoning , drug reaction or who knows what. I had some blood work done on deficiencies and my Mg was low although she couldn't imagine it causing this amount of trouble. I took Mg supplements for a month and it helped.I stopped the neurontin I was trying for PN also. I didn't have the test for the heavy metals because the Mg test came back low.
I was looking on the net for info this morning because the muscle twitches are getting worse again and I am going to call the dr. today. Thanks for the idea. It is good to know that someone else knows what it is like. Until my present partrner no one could feel this when touching me. Him feeling it helped me a lot to move it out of the "I'm crazy" space that others are all to willing to send us to if they don't see it. I'm glad I've found this place.

HI Cfh,

I just found your post today. Sorry. Are you feeling any better? What did your Dr. say?

I am just so amazed that none of the medical professionals know what it is. They give you that "look" and then you automatically know they are going to start guessing.

MY tremors have gotten so bad and now my heart is racing again. I had to go back on my beta blocker which I was off of for months. UGH...one step forward and 7 back!

Well I hope you are doing better. I love to read posts of girls who are doing better or have found something to help them....it gives the rest of us hope!

And once again....THANK YOU TO DEAREST for creating this "sacred space" for all of us to come for peace of mind, support and friendship!
