Hi,

I am brand new on power surge and have read so many interesting items that I can identify with.

I have been told that I might have orthostatic tremor but the tests show nothing and at this stage I was told that I have entered peri-menopause. I am 50 years old am told I look much younger but my goodness over the last year I feel 150 years old. I am permanently off balance and I mean off balance with stiff legs and for someone who has always been very active and supple suddenly I walk and feel like there are marbles on the floor. Dont even ask me to stand in a queue at a store or a bank.

The world spins around and coupled with this I have the heat on one side of my face that starts at my neck and stays on my ear and cheek. I feel irritable angry miserable not to mention the tremors that I have within my body. This has got a lot worse particularly over the last three weeks and all I can think about are these awful symptoms. H.....E....L.....P mad.gif

Can anyone relate?

I can totally relate to your off balance feeling. I have been feeling that way for about 6 months. I relate it more to the feeling you get after you have been on a boat. Most days I am off balance/lightheaded. I have good days and bad days. My doctor told me to keep track of the days and times that I am feeling off balance to see if there is any trend. I am 38 years old and my hormone testing all came back low and boderline low. Does anyone know of any natural remedies for this off balance feeling. I do not want to take Ativan or any other drug.

Thanks,
Janne

Dear Janne,

Thank you so much for your response. It makes it so much easier to bear when you know that you are not alone with strange sensations and happenings that occur in the body. For someone such as myself who has never experienced this it has been so frightening. An out of control feeling. I have been a ballet dancer from the age of three. Then I have done modern dancing and spanish and my job is on my feet all day so you can only imagine how scary this has all been.

I have just recently started taking Remifeminin and I have to be honest. I was having night sweats before I started them and they have really helped me a lot. I wish I could find something to take to help with the off balance feeling. The neurologist suggested I take Inderal for Essential Tremor which is something I can live with, the essential tremor , however the off balance feeling is horrible. Yes you are quite right being on a ship feeling is a better description. I have been on ships and even danced on them and today I can hardly wear my high heel shoes.

Have you been recommended to see a neurologist at all? However for the good it does , I was told that he did not need to see me again unless I needed to see him. Its almost as if I have been left to get on with it.

Keep in touch and I also find when I feel particularly bad I sip water small sips at a time and this helps a little to take away the panic.

Love from
