I read Dr. Lee's book and his views on estrogen dominance and low progesterone made good sense so I went online and bought "Happy Progesterone Cream" in a pump. It dispenses 1/4 teaspoon at a time which is 20 mg.
But I've been reading how some of you are using 100-400 mg. of progesterone cream. Where are you getting this? From doctors? Pharmacists?
I think I need to increase my dosage.

Hi suzyq2
I got mine from a doctor on RX although I am also in Canada, I am not sure if that makes a difference. If you talk to a compounding pharmacy in your area they should be able to give you a name of a doctor that prescribes it. You could also try Bellevue Pharmacy

I get mine from Arbonne...and independent sales company who does in home presentations. They are growing like crazy in the US, probably b/c they offer so many products for women who are going through changes in their lives. I am not a distributor of it however! Just thought I'd give you another resource. If you need a larger dosage, I would say a compounding pharmacy might be less expensive in the long run.

I got my progesterone creme from my ob/gyn. I should note here though that my previous ob/gyn didn't even think I was perimenopausal and was ready to talk antidepressants to me. My current ob/gyn is open minded. When I told her that I felt like a creme worked better for me that natural prog. pills she suggested giving me a prescription for a 30 mg. creme to start that dispeses a 1/4 tsp. out of a syringe. I'm still in the trial phase. I have a gut feeling I need more that just the 30mg. If your ob/gyn isn't open to this find someone who is. It took me awhile to find her but hang in there and keep trying. Is is so important to get a doctor who you feel is sympathetic and open. I prefer female ob/gyn.'s Mine is also going through perimenopause so she totally understands.

Been a few years since I was asking and replying. This site was and has been a wealth of information for me when I didn't know what was happening to me. (I had an ovary surgically removed when I had my tubal).
I took the advice of many here (as well as almost memorizing Dr. Lee's books) and started using Natural Progesterone Cream (Happy Cream we call it) I have been using this brand for over a year now, although it took a few different ones to get the right one and the right amount.
I am in Canada. I get mine from a local health food store, although I believe you can order it online. ProGest by Emerita. I only use an 1/8 tsp a day (about 10mg) (AT NIGHT) as I found it made me groggy in the mornings.
I don't think I need to take more (as I did initially and it was a wild ride then). I still have the odd symptom but feel almost normal again (except for the lightheadedness which is a consistent feeling but I've come to live with it).
Hope that helps.
