Hi Tina,

Run, don't walk, to a gynecologist for an exam. No, I don't think you're in menopause. You're just way too young for that. It's good that you came off the
birth control pills.

I wonder if you're ovulating at all ... the BC pills were mechanically creating
menstrual cycles with all the hormonal manipulation that they do. I would schedule a medical appt. ASAP.

Please let us know how you're doing.

Hi Tina,
There are lots of possible reasons for your lack of periods and I agree with Suzy that you should get yourself to a specialist ASAP.
Having said that you are certainly NOT too young to be in menopause. Good luck and do let us know how you get on.

My best friend had the same problem and they said it was something to do with her pituitary gland not producing enough of the hormone to make her start. The doctor put her on all kinds of BCP but didn't seem to help. Then they put her on some medicine (which I can't think of the name to save my life) to make her have a period. This started when she was around the same age as you and she is now 28. She has had problems getting pregnant and had to be put on fertility meds. After about 3 yrs she became pregnant. If I were you I would ask about the pituitary disorder and see what the dr says

Let me know how it goes!!

Hello everyone I just want to thank everyone for helping me out on this.I dont have a mom to talk about girl things to just a dad and you know how that is trying to explain something like this. ohmy.gif men they just dont get it. biggrin.gif But anyways it was a big help for me. laugh.gif

its werid because when I was young before I started my period I just thought it was something you didnt have to worry about ya know.that it would come every month and that would be that. But i guess my body has to be difficult. tongue.gif

To tell you the truth I really wouldnt be worried about this if it wasnt for me wanting to have kids later in my life. laugh.gif

Hi Tina,
I understand your concern about having kids but this is certainly not the only issue here.
If you are not getting periods then your body is missing out on all the hormones it should be getting. This can have serious implications eg for your bones. PLEASE see a doctor ASAP.
It is a shame you haven't got your mum to talk to about this. My mum has Alzheimer's - she was diagnosed in her early 60s. I have no idea when she went through menopause and really wish I could ask her about her experience. Life is hard isn't it?
Take care,
Talitha
