Hi, on top of menopausal symptoms, now I have to contend with cholesterol levels being to high. I am 54 and have been about 25 lbs. over weight for about 20 years now, I eat healthier now but now my cholesterol level is up and especially my triglycerides. My HDL is high and that is a good thing, my LDL are not bad run normal/high but the triglycerides are double what they should be. They are 4.40Now this is canadian measurments, but the normal is no more than 2.3. I must say I could excercise more, but my eating habits are not bad, no fried foods, I but everything inNO FAT, labelling, I read labels, watch the fat content, eat no red meat, very little sugar, I asked my doctor ifthis could be related to menopause and she said a big fatNO.... I am not sure we agree on this menopausal issue. They say cut out carbs, and sugar, well if you don't eat muchin the way of meats, I do eat fish, but rice and pasta are my basic staples, but I guess this is BAD, THEY CONVERT TOsugar. A person can't survive on just veggies and fruits, and even that some fruits have lots of sugar, and where do you get nice fresh fruit in the middle of winter up here inCanada.????? Stumped...... not sure what to cut back onBut will try to get out and walk more.....any suggestions.
