I haven't had a yeast infection in years and years. Well, I got one. And now I think I know why. What with all the hot flashes and sweating and mood swings.. I also started using the phytoestrogen cream a few weeks ago in addition to the progesterone cream, and that was apparently a mistake since I am still perimenopausal. Now I read where excess estrogen may contribute to yeast infections, like it can with the pill.
I tried one prescribed regimen (Monistat) but it didn't go away totally after the 7 days. My symptoms are still with me only less so. I am doing the treatment again, but as of today I am dropping the daily phytoestrogen cream. I was misled and didn't do my research well enough and thought I needed it. All I (think I) needed was to go back on my progesterone cream and use it twice a day instead of once.
Does anyone have any comments on this? I would appreciate any wise advice. Thank you.
