My period has been getting strange lately. It still comes once a month, give or take 4 days. The strange part is that I will have normal flow w/ red blood for not quite two days, then a day of nothing at all, then maybe a day or two of very light brownish flow. This month was really only a day and a half of red blood then nothing else. Are things coming to an end? Does almost no period mean I haven't ovulated? I have been on a .05 estrogen patch for about 9 months, but have been told that I do not need to add progesterone until I stop having periods on my own. I'm 40 next month and know i've been in peri for a while, but 40 seems way too young to stop having periods. I swear I'm gettin more and more confused about this whole deal.

My period is doing strange things like this for three years. I'm 44. It could mean the end is near, but it might not. Everyone is different and have different experiences. 40 seems young, but it's not impossible to go into menopause at that age.

My period has been strange for many years. I sarted getting very heavy periods about 10 years ago. (I am 49) Then I started to miss them for months at a time.Three years ago went for the whole summer ... June untill October without a period. It has been like that since some are heavy some are lite. I went for six months the longest without one. My doctor dosn't think I should get anohter one the estogen level is so low. (you never know) my last one was in early March and it was a heavy one. I sure hope it is the last one.
