My MD said "no value in hormone testing, it's hocus pocus!" I found a NP who believes in Bioidenticals and ordered a panel. I had a blood draw 2 days before my period and here are the results:
Estradiol level=171 Normal range 50-150
Progesterone= 0.5 Normal range 4.5-25.2
Both labs in the luteal phase

I'd say I'm progesterone depleted, wouldn't you. Am waiting on a prescription of Prometrium 100mg daily. I wonder if this will be enough? Anyone with any experience like this and how long should I wait to have them repeated. I know I'm out of whack and the labs seem to confirm it.

Thanks for sharing your labs with us. It does look like you are estrogen dominant and low (very low !) on progesterone.

Let us know how you're feeling once you start the prometrium.

I'm glad you were proactive and found a doctor who would do the bloodwork on you. These docs think they know everything, don't they? MY gyne didn't even run a hormone profile on me.
