Two months ago one of my ovaries was surgicaly removed due to complex cyst. I thought that the whole nightmare was over... but last week I went to blood test /on my request, because I was curious how is my only ovary working after the surgery/ before starting BCP. The test was completely surprising - FSH, that was normal 8 months ago, now is 51, and estrogen is normal, but borderline.... my gyn said that I'm menopausal, but I have no symtoms at all.... my friends and my husband keep saying I've never looked better... lost some weight, so my BMI is now 20, I'm full of energy... but confused.
I'm on BCP now, to regulate a cycle, and to protect my ovary. But my gyn says that, due to test results, I dont need pills any more, but HRT. I think my body is wiser than lab results, and I'm afraid to experiment with different levels of hormones right now, when I'm doing so well on BCP.
So, what do you think - should I wait, when to do another test, and should I give my ovary a chance to recover?

Kristina-
Are you still having a period? If so, you are not menopausal. You are only in menopause if you have gone 12 straight months without a period.
If you feel good now. I would hesitate to change anything.

I had my hormones tested in February and my FSH was 65. The doctor said I would have no more periods and I was in Menopause. Surprise, I have had two since then and one was 22 days long. If you are feeling good, don't do anything. Why start on something that you don't need. I would just keep on with what you are doing until your body tells you otherwise.

Yes, I do still have a period. Before my surgery, I was on progesteron, because my gyn tried to resolve my cyst. The surgery was on April 4th, and I have a normal period on April 28. Then, I didn't get a period for 42 days, so my gyn gave me progesteron again, and said I suppose to get a period two days after last pill. I got a period during the therapy... and went to lab on day 3, before starting BCP. And then... confusing results. I also think I should stay on BCP (yasmin)... but I have to found RE who will listen what I have to say.
