Full Version: Please reassure me
Power Surge Forums > Board Discussions > Am I Starting Perimenopause?
SubliminalMe
I think I am in perimenopause, but would love to have reassurance from smart, caring women!

I started seeing a gyn six weeks ago because things just didn't seem right. I've been diagnosed with hyperplasia and my physician is attempting for the second time to do an endometrial biopsy.

I'm 45, miss about 3 periods a year, have started spotting inbetween, wake up at 3pm (about) nightly, and feel completely teary and overwhelmed with anxiety a good share of the day.

I would certainly prefer peri-menopause to insanity, so any reassurance would be appreciated.

Also, I am aware that I started each of the first four paragraphs with the word "I" which seems completly out of character, and yet, oh well. mellow.gif

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Hi there -
Welcome to Power Surge. And welcome to the Meno. Sisterhood laugh.gif .

It sure does sound like you are Perimenopausal. All your symptoms, emotional, not sleeping good, etc. is a peri.meno. thing. And no - your not insane...but boy oh boy - going thru peri.meno. does make you feel like you are - been there, done that biggrin.gif .

Continue going thru the message boards. Sometimes the most valuble tool that you have during your peri-meno. time is.....knowledge. The more you know and understand how your body is working can assist you during this challenging time of your life...

Blessings,

Welcome Stacy-

Sure sourds like peri to me. Your cycle has changed (is changing) and you have actually missed periods.

I am wanting to do that soon. I started this peri stuff at 45 soon after I lost my left ovary and my periods went from flooding to light and short. Now I am spotting in between periods.

I too have the anxiety most of the day. What helps me is progesterone in sublingual form from a dr. I take it daily and still get my period. If I don't take it every day of my cycle, the anxiety is thru the roof.

Revival Soy seems to help wtih slepp. I was waking at 2:00 and 4:30 for the past six weeks.

Eating protein in the morning is helpful. A boiled egg or some bacon is good. It reduces the anxiety. I am not sure why.

No you ARE NOT CRAZY but this peri really makes you feel crazy.

You are skipping periods so that is a good sign you are on your way to this being over.

Keep Posting

You've found a great site with lots of information as well as lots of wonderful ladies to share with and find support.

You are NOT going insane and are perimenopausal wub.gif It sure feels like you are though.

I too have had anxiety, depression, weepiness, angry outbursts at poor hubby, achy joints ....you name it. Peri likes to toss things at us from every angle.

Welcome again and keep looking at the site as there is MUCH information to be found smile.gif

HI SUBLIMINALME ! smile.gif

SURE SOUNDS LIKE PERIO-MENOP. TO ME. I'M 44 AND HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED IN THE PAST YEAR OR SO VERY STRANGE SYMPTOMS, ALL OF WHICH ARE DEFINITELY PERIO-MENOP. SO I FOUND OUT THANKS TO ALL THE GREAT INFOR. FROM EVERYONE ELSE ON THE BOARDS. FOR A WHILE I WOULD GET MY PERIOD WHO KNOWS WHEN ANYWHERE FROM 22 DAYS TO 48 DAYS BUT WOULD HAVE CRAMPS EVERY DAY THE WEEK BEFORE AND THE WEEK I WAS DUE FOR A PERIOD. ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO I STARTED TAKING THE SOY REVIVAL SHAKE (NOT EVERYDAY) MAYBE 3X A WEEK AND WITHIN A MONTH AFTER STARTING I GOT MY PERIOD NORMAL 27- 29 DAYS FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS IN A ROW AND THE CRAMPS ALSO WENT AWAY BEFORE THE PERIOD NOT DURING THE PERIOD. I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE ANSWER, BUT TO MY SURPRISE NO PERIOD THIS MONTH, CAME ON THE 49TH DAY AND IT WAS TERRIBLE - HEAVY FLOW WHICH IS SOMETHING I USUALLY DON'T EXPERIENCE AND THE CRAMPS WERE HORRIBLE. SO, WELCOME TO PERIO-MENOP. YOUR BODY IS GOING TO DO WHATEVER IF LIKES - JUST REMEMBER WE ARE ALL HERE TO HELP EACH OTHER. IF I WERE YOU I WOULD STAY ON BCP - DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING.
BEST WISHES.
