Funny you mention it, but I'm on Day 8 of my cycle and feel like I have the flu (nausea, headache, body aches). I all of the above simultaneously occasionally, but I don't associate it with any particular day of the cycle.
I also sunk into a depression today. I wasn't consciously aware of it, then suddenly I started crying (when I could not find where my husband put an ingredient that I needed for cooking--got to get take-out and stop cooking!).
Anyway, I guess this flu/depression thing is just another meno symptom.
I'm blown away by how nasty this "thing" (menopause) is. Some women claim they had as much trouble with adolescence (spelling?), but I certainly didn't. It was totally mild in comparison.

Hi Lisa,
It's interesting that you just posted about feeling flu like and nauseated. I just posted on another thread about something that happened to me this morning. I have been spotting for two days now when all of a sudden this morning when I got up I got a terrible wave of nausea that made me feel as if I was going to faint. I had to lay down for about an hour or so before I felt well enough to get up again. I got cramps and then a regular period actually started - just that suddenly. This is so strange. I also get the achy feeling kind of like the flu but mine is usually during my period. This whole peri stuff is too much sometimes.

Lisa,
I used to get this sick/achy/nausea/headache/diarrhea thing when my period first started. My doc told me I could help it by taking an Advil a day for the 2 days before the period began. It sounds bizarre, but it WORKED.
Of course, this is when my cycles were "regular." Once they got really crazy during peri, I never knew when I'd be starting!

Hi Lisa and All,
Yes, I get the nausea on around the eighth day where my period used to be!
I haven't had a period for 7 months but still get PMS as though I am going to have one - so bizarre! The nausea is a new one but is now showing-up.
What NEXT!!!

Oh my goodness!!!! (this is my first post here) this is exactly how I have been for 1 year and a half. and the bloating or diarrhea thing... about a week or 8 days or so after the period. I am so glad to know I am not alone. I really thought this was a PMS symptom, but mine for awhile have been after my period.
the reason I am here today is the real bad depression. I need to know I am not alone. I just don't want to go on. I've had 4 UTIs this summer and am sick of them. I have an appt with a urologist in a week or so but my meds eval isn't until Oct. 12.... don't know if I can wait that long.
Glad to know I am not alone. I see so many things posts mimicking how I feel. thank you all.
