Anyone tried this? It is a herbal supplement formulated by Enzymatic Therapy (which to my knowledge is a pretty respectable company). It contains:

MacaPure brand Maca (Lepidium meyenii) Root Extract standardized to contain 0.6% macaenes and macamides 400 mg †
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) Root Extract standardized to contain 4% withanolides
250 mg †
Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea) Root Extract standardized to contain 3% rosavins and 1% salidroside 150 mg †
Eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus) Root Extract standardized to contain a minimum of 0.8% eleutherosides E and B
150 mg †
Catuaba (Erythroxylum catuaba) Bark Extract 4:1
100 mg
They did a segment on it on ABC's 20/20. They had a middle aged couple use it and she said that it did seem to help somewhat. Here's a link about the segment with Dr. Tim Johnson. http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=230011&page=4

Anyone have any feedback to report?

Cindy,

I haven't heard of that, but I took Avlimil for a while last year and it didn't do a thing for me. If anyone has any concrete feedback for increasing libido, even a little, I'll be glad to hear about it.

I have heard from a number of sources that Avlimil does not work at all. I looked at the ingredients and it is basically soy isoflavones with some estrogenic herbs and valerian thrown in. Hot Plants does not contain any of the ingredients in Avlimil. I actually bought some, but haven't tried it yet. One thing that did boost the libido for all three of us who tried it is Femarelle. After taking 2 capusles a day for 30 days, three of us who tried it noticed a definite libido boost. You can see our thread in "Bioidentical Hormones" board. Unfortunately, in our cases we noticed pronounced water retention and weight gain. In my case about 3-5 pounds. So you have an increased libido, but you expand like the Goodyear Blimp. I got off the stuff since I had no desire to buy bigger bras and clothes. But you might want to try it if you are desperate.

I took myself off the Climara patch, went on a herbal tincture that has Black Cohosh as it's main ingredient as well as some other herbs (one of which is motherwort which is great for menopause symptoms) and Maca. Works great for the libido!!
