Has anyone tried the over the counter estrogen and progesteron creams? I found some on a website and was tempeted to try them. I really don't want to go the doctor route, many are so condensending about our problems, last one told me hot flashes were a mild inconvience, wish he had mine. laugh.gif

Hi,

I did try a progesterone cream some years ago that I bought at a health-food store (sorry, I'm not remembering the name, but it's a well-known one). I didn't feel it did much to help me, but some people here at Power-Surge have had good responses with this approach.

It would be worth checking out the "Progesterone" forum here, and also any articles posted.

Good luck to you!

According to John R Lee M.D. Swears by Natural Progesterone cream.
You can read his transscript right here on the site.
Also he has written a book "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About

Even though i haven't tryed the cream i do take Chasteberry. which is a herb.

I used over-the-counter Progest brand cream for about 5 years with great success.

The jar MUST say "USP" progesterone, because the body will not convert yam or soy into progesterone (though some companies claim that). The manufacturing lab must do the conversion.

There are several good brands, though.

Worth a try, but you really need to give it several cycles to work (use last two weeks before period starts).

Good luck.

I have been using an over the counter Progesterone Cream, one that is recommended in Dr. Lee's book. This is now month #2 for me.

My whole life has been affected with the "peri" symptoms for the past year, so these past two months I have been watching things carefully. what I have noticed since I started the cream: Some better days with my energy levels.

My periods have been so bad for the past year, that on my first few days I am usually wiped out, literally in bed (if at all possible), but this month I didn't get so bad as usual, could be the cream??? Its a real improvement, so thats very interesting. The first month I felt alittle bloated, but now thats gone. The worst part for me is that my breasts have stayed sore since I started the cream, wondering if that will get better as time goes on???

Anyway, this is my input for those of you that are considering this option. I only use it at night. I don't use it twice daily. I rather put it on right before bed, and use it only on the cycle days 12-24. Only had a couple hot flashes the whole month, that is an improvement for me.
