Hey!
I haven't slept (well) in three months, have been dealing with hot flashes galore, now getting into the nausea/diarrhea/dizziness/ornery--general poopiness. Cramps are back, and infront too! mad.gif Boobs hurt. Honey complains about bruises from my nghtly flailing,
BUT I had a GREAT day today!
I am a Chef and two months ago we decided to do a "Wine and Dine" at the restaurant.
Tonight was the night. I didn't sleep much last night, no surprise.
Everything went spectacularly! ohmy.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif
Timing was perfect, everybody LOVED everything, want to know when the next one is!
And through my 12 hour day today I wasn't once bothered by any of my symptoms! Maybe it's the new bra! tongue.gif
Now I'm just working on comming down! Maybe I've just been on adrenalin all day. Is there a prescription for that?

Just thought you should know>

After my great day, I crashed!
I think I was flying on adrenalin, but didn't sleep a wink that night...Honey is complaining of bruised shins from my flailing!
Went to work, still basking and still hearing raves. Had to dissappear into the washroom to hide the crying jag that suddenly appeared blink.gif Made it through the work-night, dragged myself home. Had a hot bath and slept soundly--for about 45 minutes huh.gif . Was up and down, hot and freezing for the rest of the night.
Life goes on!

Just going through my old posts and found this one.

It is surprising how things can change and still remain the same.
I'm coming up to a year later. I am planning for my next Wine and Dine. (Mardi Gras this time--will take any suggestions for dishes!)

I had about two months off of hot flashes, but then they came back. Now they just creep in and stay, they don't pounce and leave.
I haven't had a full nights sleep in months, and have spent more nights in the spare room than I care to mention, in order to give Honey his space.

I'm saying "Uncle". The rest of the crap I can deal with, but this is getting to be too much for me. I am interested in non-prescription suggestions, hopefully with pros and cons.

I am also exploring other avenues, but you girls have been there!

A little advice?
chefmarr
Oh, and the FIRST other avenue is through this venue.
Thank You, Dearest, I've learned a lot.

Hi Chef,

Have you tried a small dose of an OTC antihistamine, like Benedryl? It's what my counselor suggested.

Wishing you improvement with this!

Thought I'd share what worked for me...couple of cups of Celestial Seasonings "Sleepytime" tea, before bed.
Like JJ mentioned benedryl, or over the counter sleeping pills.
Tell your self your not going to think about not sleeping and will not be fighting to sleep, sounds dumb...but, it worked for me. Went from maybe 4 hours a night to at least 6. I can live with that.
