Hi,

I posted items regarding my supposed perimenopausal burning vagina in Feb. I just got the call last week (just short of one month ) from my doctor's office informing me that my vag. culture had Strep A. and they were calling in a prescription for Keflex. mad.gif Boy was I ticked, they said they got behind! From what they told me Strep is naturally occurring in the vagina but can go crazy under certain conditions. That may explain why I get itchy now and then even minor burning.

A word of warning, never wait for your lab/test results to get called to you or assume they are normal because you didn't get a call, always follow up!

Well, anyway that's good for you to hear as you'll soon be back to 'normal' (is there such a thing? smile.gif )

There's nothing worse than discomfort down there!

I little humor on a serious subject----
My therapist told me all about NORMAL!!!!!

Hi!

I found the reason for my vaginal dryness and burning. I had been taking Allegra for at least 5 years every day. Well, it seems that (when you turn 60) your sinuses are not the only thing that medication drys up. I stopped taking it on Monday and I'm back to "normal" today (at least for now).

My gyn called me back and (of course) knew nothing about a possible interaction so he prescribed Premarin Cream to us only for 6 days over a 2 week period. I have not used it ... if I needed to go on a cream, I would choose one with Estradiol rather than conjugated estrogen.

Hope this helps some of you ladies out there.
