Gunner here:
I am off to SF to see the surgeons tomorrow- this is the worst experience I have ever been in - up there with my parents dying:
I must say when you get a cancer diagnosis you really know who your friends are - they either come out in force to support you or hide and run away. It makes
me sick - really -Please keep me in your thoughts tomorrow as my options will either be a lumpectomy +radiation or a mastectomy.
I keep asking myself is this some joke or something.

Gunner, you are in my thoughts and definitely in my prayers. Keep the spirit girl. Positive thinking is always the best way to go. I know you are afraid, and I know you are angry - but you're strong and you will do fine. I have absolute faith in you. None of us here on P/S can be there for you in person, but we are ALL with you in heart.
Keep us posted.
Always, Kleeo

Gunner, please do not be too hard on those around you who probably really do care. It's just difficult to know what to say. They could be chirpy and positive (and then you'd think they don't understand). They could say "Oh that's terrible for you" and you'd think they were not being positive. Some people just hide because they just don't know what to do.
It's one of those awful times when YOU have to be the brave one but know that there are people who care for your wellbeing in such a horrible situation.
I wish you the very best of luck, positiveness and support from all your friends here, dear Menosister.
