I had my laparascopic surgery yesterday. I'm a bit sore and tired, but it wasn't so bad. My Dr. decided to do exploratory surgery due to the pelvic pain and pressure I've been feeling all the time for 2 years. I also get extreme ovarian pain during ovulation. The docs have been suspecting endometriosis. They found nothing. Everything was clean and in the correct place. So......now what? The doc told my dh that it probably has to do with chemical inbalances and we will look at pain management issues at my post op appt.
Anyone else in the same boat? I'm 43, almost 44 and this has been going on for 2 1/2 years along with anxiety and panic. I'm chalking this up to hormones and perimenopause. What do you think ladies? It really s*cks though not knowing exactly what's going on. It does make me feel like I'm crazy. One good thing is that time between periods is getting longer and it only lasts 2 days. Maybe it will just fade away eventually and that will be that. That's what I'm praying for.

Diane, I'm really glad you had it done, and I'm doubly glad they found nothing! I think the uterus is a very mysterious body part. I still haven't figured mine out, and neither have the doctors. What I've come to learn is that hormones are incredibly powerful chemicals, and there's no telling what they have in store for us! I hope your doctor is up for the challenge, and will figure something out for you. You are definitely not crazy!
Hugs,

Dianne,
This is EXACTLY what happened to me!!! Back in 1992, I was having constant bladder pain, pressure in the pelvis, pain with intercourse, etc. All the ultrasounds and other tests were coming back normal, so my doc decided to do an exploratory laparoscopy. He suspected endometriosis.
They found NOTHING. I felt relief - and also utter frustration.
Not long after this, I was diagnosed with intersitital cystitis (a disorder that causes swelling in the bladder). My pelvic floor muscles were completely out of whack, causing sensations of pressure and pain all over. I still have this stuff, but it has improved - I've learned how to take care of myself when flare-ups come.
My heart goes out to you - I know how challenging pelvic pain can be. Hoping yours resolves itself soon...

Glad to hear everything turned out well with your lapro. I have had several of them due to endometriosis you will be fine and back to your old self soon. I also wanted to share with you that I get extreme pressure and pain when I ovulate, seems like both ovaries are going to explode. I have had this ever since I did fertility drugs which was about 9 years ago now and I still get this terrible symptom, your not alone.
